I played with the mate 8 for a bit at a store.
It's the biggest phone on the market right now.
Processor is really good, feels snappy. Screen looks good even though it is 1080p.
The problem is the software updates and the probability of roms. And the camera is pretty shit for a 600€ device.
But the screen size is awesome...
S6 edge plus is still pretty dank, but the 7 will probably be better. 6p has no sd slot, and a deprecated housefire cpu.

Cricket Wireless user who's phone screen broke today, and thinking of upgrading and trying a different carrier. Considering paying someone to fix the screen will likely run within 65% of buying a new phone outright, I figured I'd see if switching carriers and buying the right phone will bring it to an even cost.
My job situation changed a lot, so I am almost always working from home, so I was considering switching to a wifi plan. I've had a google voice number for a while now anyways.
Is Project Fi and a Nexus5x at $200 worth it?
Republic Wireless also comes highly recommended by friends as a good way to save money (I average around 2 gb a month during holidays, and under 2 gb during regular times of the year), but they seem to no longer sell high-end phones. The moto G is a solid low-end phone though.

From what I've heard the only issue with the 5x was that it used to lag because of the 2GB ram, but the most recent update to the phone fixed all of that.
Software wise, it's a safe choice. My only problem with it now is the small screen size and massive bezels, but those aren't really dealbreakers.

If the battery gets low it won't charge until I restart the phone with the charger plugged in. Even custom roms have this issue so I have no idea what to do.

I did have an iPhone 4 at some point, but only because I needed to use it for a job (app development). I really liked the user experience aspect of iOS, at least. I am, however, not giving Apple money for one of their phones, they're overpriced technology. So I guess I'll have to deal with Android. My budget is $200 ~ $300 USD. I'm looking for an unlocked smartphone that doesn't come with (a lot of) bloatware, has >= 2 GB RAM, >= 16 GB storage, microSD slot, decent battery life (i.e. not dying on me before the day is over), doesn't get laggy/slow doing basic shit/basic multitasking (e.g. Whatsapp, web browsing, e-mails, maybe some music or a YouTube video?). Gaming performance is probably irrelevant. I don't care much about screen size either, as long as I can read clearly.

Did a factory reset already,rooted then tried to change IMEI but it simply won't change.
This is my first smartphone so all these things are kinda new for me.

Terminal Emulator with the command and a blackberry IMEI:No success.

Posting bad things I found out after 1 week with LG G4
- camera is fucking awesome for pictures but kinda bad for videos, especially slow-mo is jagged
- some stupid LG apps can not be disabled/uninstalled
- phone supports quick charge but stock charger is rated 1.8A
- my major complaint: phone will not fucking charge if the screen is on, it charges like 1% every 5 minutes, you have to keep the screen off for charging. Ampere reports 270ma charge with screen on, 1800ma with screen off.

Anyone remember a guy bitching about his Note 5 battery life last week? Well I did a factory reset and now the battery life is amazing. Performance also seems to have imrpoved. While I'm pleased with the results, it's a little disconcerting that I have to jump through hoops to get the phone working the way it should. I never had to do this sort of thing on my iPhone.
