tl;dr - why did changing dns servers fix my connection issues after getting a new modem with old router setup?

I got a new modem and had issues with it connecting to my router, it would connect to my PC just fine though.
It would show I had internet connection on my desktop but wouldn't open webpages, until I eventually tried changing my dns server to 8.8.8.8 like some video told me to.
Everything works great but now I have to change the dns server on my iPhone to get it to connect to wifi.

Why did I have to manually swap dns servers and is there any way to avoid having to manually adjust the dns on every new device each time I connect to my network now?

If by 2k you mean 2560*1440, then it can be worth it. BluRays will look the same, they don't go that high. Almost every game I own can run at 1440p, you just need the GPU to drive it.

Sup /sqt /,

I have a friend who's a bit short on money atm and we're going to reuse one of these power supplies. He'll just be powering a CPU (i5-6500), ram (ddr4) and a hard disk. 300W is more than enough. He'll get a new PSU next month so this is temporary. It'll be connected to a UPS so practically no risk of electrical fuckery from the outlet affecting the PSU.

Which one should we use?

Alright, I have a couple stupid questions.

First, what is the best way to clone and restore an OS install? What is the industry standard, professional way to do this?

Second, how do I infect a computer with virus and trojans, and then clean it up? I want to learn how to clean infected PCs. What software and tools are used to do this?

The reason I want to clone and restore the install is so I can practice cleaning PCs of different types of infections over and over. I have a spare PC, so I figured I could use it to learn.

It was in the post, but I guess I can repeat it.
A laptop with an i7 costs about 50-100€ more than one with an i5.
Remember that I'm buying used.

I have a pair of cheap (< US$5 converted from my currency) stereo sound boxes for PC, 1W, that drains energy from 1 USB port.
They simply doesn't emit any kind of sound. The LED lits up, but there is no sound.

It's not worth the price to pay somebody else to fix, but should I fix it myself? It's worth? Should it be difficult?

What I know is that these type of sound boxes have terrible sound quality, so I would prefer giving them (working) to someone instead of using them myself.

>>
>>53542458
Since you said "Only about" I will assume money isn't a real factor. I'd go with the i7 just because of the extra two cores for just in case. Saves you having to buy something with more power if the i5 doesn't work out.

>>

if the crack is along the outside of the disk its kinda ok to use on a low speed drive (some software exists to limit read speeds too)
if the crack is on the inside of the disk it would be best to not put it in the drive, unless you really need the data it has in it (you might need to disassemble the drive and clean the inside if it shatters, and its a real mess let me tell you)

If you want a separate machine to install it on you could just get an raspberry pi or derivative

I was looking for this as a way to have a secondary device that could be used for work once I get used to everything. I don't really see the point in doing this on my desktop with another drive or else I'd have already done that.
As for a raspberry pi, as stated earlier this is going to be for work and other situations that would require a level of portability. Although the devices themselves are extremely portable, the equipment required to use them isn't the kind of thing I could produce transporting from A to B.
I'm sorry that these intentions weren't clear in my original post.
Considering the new information on intended use, do you have any information that could help?

I think I fucked up. I just got a couple new 4TB drives to replace the 1.5TB nightmare that was failing SMART tests for me, and decided now was as good a time as any to properly set up RAID with the controller built in to my mobo. The drives I'm using are the 2 4TB WD Reds, and 2 2TB Reds that I had in the machine previously. I got RST to see everything and let me build the RAID between the 2 4TB drives, but I think I overestimated what it was going to do automatically for me. I had already moved all my data from the drives onto one of the 4TBs since I knew it'd let me just mirror that one onto the other 4TB, but I guess I just assumed it'd also let me convert from a RAID 1 array on those 2 into RAID 10 with the 2TB drives? It doesn't seem to be an option and I don't really get why. Am I just retarded?

you can probably do this with java if you wanted, but your description of your idea is very unclear. what do you mean by "measures what keys are easiest to reach"

Well the idea is that people have more accuracy when having to press A on your keyboard. Moreso than Shift + L or something. I just want to create a program that measures every respective key and gives it a percentage score of "ease of reach".
