Not sure what private trackers are all about?
The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.

Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

Remember the following:
>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before.
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview

Is it worth it buying 3-4x4tb HDDs for easy overlord on BTN? Is there any of these 39 autists lurking here that could tell us what's on their forums?
>>
>>52387649
>buying 3-4x4tb HDDs for easy overlord on BTN

Hahaha, do it just for autism.
>>
>>52387711
I'd actually do it because I love TV shows and anime.
The only retarded thing is the amount of snatches you need. Grabbing 5 seasons of one tv show that's 1080p could easily be 100-300gb alone, but would only count for 5 snatches.
And you can't upload for shit since everyone and their mothers have bots+scripts that auto upload directly from the scene.
>>
I hope everyone is enjoying the freeleech on AB.

Getting some nice upload because of it. Normally I sit around 300-500kbps upload, been sitting at 2MB/s for the last hour.
>>
>>52387757
>I hope everyone is enjoying the freeleech on AB

Nah, I'm not a weeb.
>>
>>52387891
Just means you don't know what you're missing, nothing wrong with that.
>>
>>52387754
Actually the other other other anon was right, there are at least 18000 torrents between 100MB to 200MB in size, those are 18k easy snatches right there
>>
>>52387757
I have close to zero interest in getting buffer on AB. Madokami is better for manga and I only watch 1 seinen series every 3rd-4th year or so. So easy to get buffer on that site tho.
>>
>>52387906
I actually watch anime from time to time and been watching for many years, I'm just not obsessed with it.
>>
>>52387918
>easy to click 18000 times
>click another 18000 times to put them in your torrent client

To really enjoy AB/anime you'd need a NAS of at least 32TB of space.
>>
>>52386933

>>
>>52387947
Well, that's the only way for easy snatches, as the other options require upload, or... snatch bigger files?
The other, fast way [not the easiest] is to upload weeb shit [not easy, but not hard either]

Okay, here's a few questions:
What notable private trackers have you been a member of? Have you been a member of the ultra epeen ones like DB9, Pedro's, Exigo, etc.? Are they worth it?
Is h4h a meme and does it really track "leaked info"?
Based on what you know of the steps private tracker sysops take to protect themselves, are cabal trackers going to be busted one day and all their users compromised?
Are the ultra super sekrit trackers like hmmmhm, FSC, WDMA sites and the likes worth it? Do they contain anything interesting you can't find elsewhere?
Ever got involved in newsgroups? How do they compare to torrents?

I'm not going to say you're right, but you're not exactly wrong. But the real truth is you only feel that way because you're finally on all the trackers you want. When I was a newfag and just starting out /ptg/ was almost like the only thread I browsed. Now I'm literally on every tracker I could possibly want, so now it just seems pointless as fuck. The problem is majority of these faggots don't know how to quit anything because their NEET pieces of shit, so instead of going about their life, they stay in the thread shitposting, being elitists to everyone else that's just starting out and that's why the general is so fucking cancerous now. Yes, they actually exist. They have little activity and look extremely curry though. They usually occupy small weird niches like cosplay, "lifestyle", that sort of thing. There's also one for hardcore feminist sjws with women studies literature and textbooks etc.

The only good thing that came out of these sites was the class-restricted nude forums but due to a recent leak on a large French forum they have all sort of locked down and require proof of female gender as an additional condition to access these forums. A shame.

>Okay, here's a few questions:
>What notable private trackers have you been a member of? Have you been a member of the ultra epeen ones like DB9, Pedro's, Exigo, etc.? Are they worth it?

"Worth" is entirely subjective. Most of those level 10 trackers have some appealing features to specific people. For most people it's not worth the time. I got into DB9 just because I have a friend who is a DJ, I randomly talked to him about private trackers one day and I invited him to some other trackers in return for an invite. I have no interest in what goes on there and let my account go inactive.

>Is h4h a meme and does it really track "leaked info"?

I don't know much about what goes on there but it's definitely real.

>Based on what you know of the steps private tracker sysops take to protect themselves, are cabal trackers going to be busted one day and all their users compromised?

I don't have enough information to make an informed statement on this. What I will say is that the so-called "cabal" trackers appear to take it extremely seriously and have learnt a lot from what has happened to other trackers that have been busted in the past. I was on OiNK, I used it with a standard home connection in the UK, no VPN or anything, and I never received any letters. I think consumers who don't upload much have virtually nothing to worry about no matter what happens. However, that being said, take steps to protect yourself if at all possible.

>Are the ultra super sekrit trackers like hmmmhm, FSC, WDMA sites and the likes worth it? Do they contain anything interesting you can't find elsewhere?

Same answer as I gave for the first point. I'm not in any such tracker and wouldn't consider spending any effort trying to get in. If you can't find a sufficient summary of what kind of content to expect on a site then I wouldn't even bother thinking about it.

>Ever got involved in newsgroups? How do they compare to torrents?

Newsgroups used to be the way to go but the top tier private trackers have outstripped them in just about every way, quality, quantity, ease of use, and download speeds are all unparalleled.

No you don't understand. For instance, there's this site about weird Japanese fashion (fruits, decora, that sort of crap) that tracks e-learning videos, tutorials, magazines, etc. When you first register you HAVE to introduce yourself and post pics of yourself wearing these clothes in the relevant fashion or whatever. Unless you are willing to buy that crap and tell your sister to dress like pic related so as to infiltrate small communities filled with cosplaying weirdos and pirate japanese fashion videos, it's simply not feasible.

The feminist one (I don't know if it's still up) has a very detailed application form and you are expected to be very knowledgeable about the history and feminism, its ideologies and divergences and history like who is Dworkin the difference between TERFs and SWERFs, how you position yourself in the feminist spectrum, who is your favourite female thinker and why, etc. Reportedly they accept males and non-feminists but I've never seen that happen, ever. Boring shit, really. E-learning, magazines, weird TV I had never heard of like "My Mad Fat Diary", etc. Loads and loads of videos of people doing boring crap like dressing in different fashion styles. Some anime, manga (these communities are often full of weebs), J-pop too. The usual girly stuff like fashion and make up tutorials, recipes, cookbooks, more conventional elearning like music, art, math (!), history, philosophy, etc. but also lifestyle, self-help books, the kind of stuff you'd expect to find on seduction sites, but aimed at a female audience. I tried to take a look at one of these books, the kind of advice they give is depressing.

Favorite tracker? Old anons always get me curious.

I'm thinking of doing an interview for this tracker but I don't want them saying I'm a "collector" and this is the most frequently asked question.
I don't understand these Nazis.
>>
>>52390187
Main tracker for the content you want.
Backup tracker for that one (usually only needed for Music/TV/Films).

Like so:

PTP/WCD/BTN
TehC/Waffles/MTV

And then the rest like JPOP/32P/IPT

Don't be like that guy who has 38 trackers on here.
>>
So much golden popcorn.

I appreciate your reminders.
>>
>>52390246
I have like 20, would that be considered collecting?
I can't exactly go to tracker I don't use anymore and ask them to close it.
It usually goes like this: shitty tracker as stepping stone > semi good tracker > the top 3 cabal > super rare ones like HDbits
And then there's trackers that goes p2leech or turns curry-tier in the span of a few months/years, then finding replacements for those. Over the course of years you'll end up like me, 20+ trackers minimum.
>>
>>52390246
>TehC
I'm debating between letting my account die or not after i get an AHD account, i can't get buffer cause of my shit speed unlike on PTP where it's easy as pie for me and AHD is pretty easy too.
Shit even on places like CG it's way easier to get buffer, TehC's economy is plain retarded and you're basically pushed to dl only seeder surge stuff when you're actually lucky and it doesn't have exactly 5 seeders.
>>
>>52390154

>10yearfag are there any trackers you still want to get on? What was this shit like 10 years ago, when did seedboxes start getting really big on trackers?

I'm done for now. Things might change though, for example a few years ago bitgamer was the best VG tracker then it disappeared overnight and everyone needed to find a new home. I don't see anything significant happening in the near future.

I've never used a seedbox, never needed one. People have used them since the early days though.

>Favorite tracker? Old anons always get me curious.

What.cd is hands down the best, but you must take into account that managing music content is far easier than most other media because the standards are much easier to control.
>>

Just download 720p & 1080p of MOTW and seed that for a week. You should be able to get plenty of buffer with new movies as well.

What trackers are easy to farm BP on?

I still miss bitgamer. I got into BCG when they accepted the refugees from it but that took a good few years until I started actually liking it, the staff there used to be complete assholes and it wasn't well seeded until they brought in their new system.

Shit people bitched so hard about that as well.

I find music the hardest to sort though, and what.cd especially difficult because once it's off the site the files themselves are a clusterfuck of tags.

TehC is the only tracker that has discouraged me since i started the rpg if i'm honest with you. Fuck the cabal, it's well worth having in your portfolio. I'm not on PTP- can you give me some advice more specifically? For when I eventually get on.

I wasn't disappointed but more surprised an yeah I guess disheartened especially when I found out that there was no BP there.

If you ever make it out to LA or DC or similarly large city, try and see something, even if it's just a nature documentary or something.

70MM is a different experience.

(as is the New IMAX w/ Laser system, though that is even more difficult to find than 70mm at the moment)

>>
>>52390661
Grab GP every day, they always release them at the same time of day.
Get a bunch of HDDs and start using the upload from the GPs to grab stuff you like and fill the drives, you'll eventually start racking in BP from that stuff and the GPs and you'll be able to grab even more stuff you like to seed.
>>
>>52390718
Odd, I saw star wars in both and preferred IMAX w/ laser over 70MM just because the 70MM just didn't offer good enough contrast ratio to really see good detail in the darker scenes.

IMAX w/ laser however was MUCH brighter and the dark scenes were sooooo much better, even though I generally dont like 3D, I honestly prefered the 3D IMAX w/ laser Star wars 7 to the 70MM IMAX Star wars 7.

Contrast ratio and color depth were just amazing and far outclassed 70mm.

Both were far better than the normal 3D IMAX though.
>>
>>52390700
I live in Sweden. We don't have many of those around. I'm probably moving overseas in a few years. I'll keep a look out.

I've been to IMAX once, like 15 years ago to watch some nature documentary.

As for any video content tracker, permaseed at least 1TB of stuff. On PTP there is shitloads of freeleech. They really like movies and want people to watch them, the amount of extra features and organization it has is great.

>>52390755
I will say the 3D Laser IMAX is definitely a lot brighter, but I vehemently dislike 3D to begin with. I was very annoyed when I found out UK would not get the 70MM 2D Star Wars.

I was comparing the laser to 70MM 2D IMAX which I just think is the best way to watch films.

>tfw ex-staffer and only want to help /ptg/ (even though I'm a NEET faggot)

>I was comparing the laser to 70MM 2D IMAX
So was I. I saw it in 70MM 2D at the Smithsonian Air and Space museum Lockheed Martin IMAX theater. Then I also saw it in 3D IMAX w/ Laser at the Smithsonian Air and space Museum Udvar-Hazy Airbus IMAX theater.

Both were excellent and far better than the "normal" IMAX.

But again, the color depth and contrast ratio were just so superior on the IMAX w/ laser system that I would choose it every time over 70mm 2D, even though I generally don't like 3D in films, it was just that much better.

This isn't to say 70mm was bad, but the 3D w/ laser was better in my experience.
>>
>>52390841

>As for any video content tracker, permaseed at least 1TB of stuff. On PTP there is shitloads of freeleech. They really like movies and want people to watch them, the amount of extra features and organization it has is great.

Most people aren't going to dedicate 1TB of HDD space to a single tracker indefinitely. And fortunately you absolutely don't need to do this either unless you want to download a LOT of stuff.
>>
>>52390937
>you absolutely don't need to do this either unless you want to download a LOT of stuff.

I thought that was a given for a movie/TV tracker. You can still cross seed.
>>

Got it. Thanks!
>>
>>52390937
>Most people aren't going to dedicate 1TB of HDD space to a single tracker indefinitely
Most people aren't on private trackers, you're already one of the few who are, plenty of us dedicate far more than 1TB to a single tracker for an indefinite period of time.

I currently have 2.5TB dedicated to AB alone. Another 1TB for Jpopsuki.
>>
>>52390982

>I thought that was a given for a movie/TV tracker. You can still cross seed.

OK let me put it this way. I have downloaded a LOT of stuff on BTN... over the course of several years. I've never had more than about 250GB seeding simultaneously. The reality is unless you're a shut-in there's no way you can watch enough stuff to justify downloading so much in such short spaces of time.

1TB is still a lot to most people even if you're cross-seeding content with multiple trackers.
>>
>>52390841
Alright, neat to know that you permaseed at least 1tb of stuff but is your only advice to download freeleech?
>>
>>52390997

>Most people aren't on private trackers, you're already one of the few who are, plenty of us dedicate far more than 1TB to a single tracker for an indefinite period of time.

I clearly meant most people on private trackers, not in general. Not that many relative to total tracker populations do.

>I currently have 2.5TB dedicated to AB alone. Another 1TB for Jpopsuki.

Why?
>>
>>52391032

>Alright, neat to know that you permaseed at least 1tb of stuff but is your only advice to download freeleech?

Not that guy but as far as PTP goes, yes, just download freeleech and seed for a while to build your stats.
>>
>>52391067
>>Why?
Bonus points and why not?

I have 150mbps upload, seeding all of that doesn't do anything on my day to day computer use, I can still game and I can still browse the web or watch movies with my seeding happening in the background.

I am already using the hard drive space to store the content so it's not like i'd magically gain more storage space by NOT seeding.
>>
>>52391032
If you get on PTP you'll see how much FL there is to download. There's not much advice needed on PTP, it's very easy to maintain buffer.

That's exactly what I did when I had to be more efficient with my HDD space. I've since found a happy medium where I spare some HDD space to leave stuff seeding beyond the required minimum. If you ever aspire to anything more than PTP or if you somehow end up in some bother with the admin (which can happen to anyone at any time for any reason) then having stats that show you're not just a bare minimum leecher can help your case.

I would already have the HDDs anyway as I keep everything I download.

Not to mention, 4TB HDDs are down around $120 for a decent one. It's not like they are THAT expensive. a 4TB drive will easily last me 6-12 months of even fairly heavy torrenting.
>>

As long as you can download and seed then your upload doesn't even really matter. Gather BP and your golden.

Once it's filled I buy a new HDD for my desktop and move the filled one over to my home server which has like 18TB right now. Pretty much all full of Movies/TV/Anime/Porn/Music.

I think this summer at some point I will make a full backup of everything and store everything off site, thinking about either my brothers house or just getting a safety deposit box or something similar.

But with the others, I've always downloaded what I've intended to keep, so seeding it all makes no difference to me. When I delete shit to replace it with better copies.

Any clue of what super sekrit trackers recruit from there?
>>
>>52391478
Did you get the KG invite on PTP from the unofficial guy? if so is did he ask for any special requirement?
>>
>>52391789
hdb/pedro's staff supposedly seek people on there sometimes, but i can't verify that
>>
>>52391774
>python, algorithmic stock trading
jej, never thought i'd see somenthing like that on a WCD class forum.
>>
>>52391796
I don't remember dude, I got in like 7 years ago.

Possible to run i2p on my server hosted off site?
>>
>>52391789
At that point getting into other trackers stops mattering and pure autism takes over. As you can see, most threads are about putting more content on the site itself or the other Masters.
>>
>>52391796
Not him but I'm pretty sure that Bib had KG recruitment. Can't remember if it was official or not.
>>
>>52391829
Fuck, hope i don't have to suck too much dick for it.
>>
>>52391829
To answer him anyway the KG inviter on what stopped on account of apparently none of his invites using the damn site.

Seedboxes can't containt 10tb+ of data without paying 100+ per month.

Home seedbox is the way to go.
>b-but you can get letters
Never happened to me.

>Seedboxes can't containt 10tb+ of data without paying 100+ per month
You get a 1TB or 2TB seedbox, download what you want, transfer to home computer, seed what you need to and delete when you no longer need to seed.

That way you have a copy on your computer at home, and your seedbox now has free space for more stuff.
>>
>>52391892
Is there anyway to automatically do that?

Say I have a 6TB seedbox (server) and 60TB at a home seedbox. After a day or two I want the seedbox to send it to home and delete it for more high speed storage.

Yeah, write a script.
>>
>>52391951
I'm too retarded for that shit...
>>
Where do BTN recruit from now then?
>>
When do I see the invite threads on HDB... I wanna see what they have to offer...
>>
>>52391971
It would be fairly basic, you're just moving files from one directory to another via SFTP.

If you have free time just spend the next week or two learning basic scripting and you can probably throw something together.

Nowhere. Readable (the recruiter) killed himself or something.

don't say that ;_;

Is it just a case of this one recruiter not doing it any more, for whatever reason? So is there any reason to assume that it will possibly open IP again at some point in the future?
>>
>>52392089
I'm sure they'll recruit again but I have no idea when.
>>
Is there more info on h4h? Like screens/stats?
