Moving from drip machine to french press was a nice change.
Grinding your own coffee immediately before brewing is a meme, don't fall for the whole bean meme.

Pleb desu
>>
I have a 5 year old sleek-ass Moccamaster that's easily one of the best drip makers available. These things heat the water to just right temperature for the best brew.

I grind my beans with a Wilfa grinder that has buttload of different settings. I've concluded that fine filter grind, just a notch coarser than Aeropress grind, is the best.

The best beans around here come from a small shop where they have been roasted a couple of days before I purchase them. A 2.2 pound bag is around 33USD. Totally worth every dollar.

JavaScript + React (front-end)

Hoping my team agreeds to try ClojureScript for our next project.

If you're not immersion brewing then you are making coffee wrong desu
>>
Is there a way to hook up like a Rpi or an arduino to connect your coffee machine to your network?
Then you can make coffee from your pc like that lazy russian guy.
>>
>>52302919
unless you also have an automatic coffee ground/water dispenser and a self-cleaning carafe, you still have to manually keep the machine stocked with water and coffee beans before you issue the "make coffee" command, so what's the point?

no matter how much types of making coffee I see, there is no difference how you brew coffee and little to no difference in mid to high priced beans.

Coffee makers are Apple of kitchen.

Latte with 2 shots of espresso. I use a relatively cheap Saeco Poemia for the job.

I'm on keto right now so I've had to lay down the steamed milk unfortunately, so it's just 2 shots watered down by the machine.
>>
I used to think French press was hipster shit but then I got one for Christmas. Its pretty damn nifty and takes about as long as a normal drip contraption but the coffee tastes a lot better.
>>
>>52303149
the difference in bean varieties and localities can be tasted in light to medium roasts.
Anything labeled "dark roast", "columbian", "french roast", etc. is basically burned to the point where all the natural flavorings are burned out in favor of a very familiar roasted coffee flavor that makes it all taste the same.
It's very much like cooking a steak well done, you might as well use cheap and shitty beans if you're gonna burn out all the flavor.
>>
>>52303157
a full fledged coffee machine or are you simply rigging a remote control on switch for a drip machine?
>>
>>52303220
Currently only a drip machine but i'll add parts to make it a full fleged one if this one works out
>>
>>52303149
>there is no difference how you brew coffee
There is a big difference and it can change how it tastes depending on how it is prepared.

>no difference in mid to high priced beans.
Again, depends, mostly depends on freshness and type of roast. Dark is usually bitter, opposite end isn't so bitter.
>>
I don't
>>
I'm stuck with a brewer that only brews kcups, but steeps it for too long making the shit taste bitter as fuck. Due to no fridge in my dorm, I'm thinking about trying out powdered milk

at home I just take a spoon of coffee powder right into the cup and pour hot water over it

at work I prefer drip coffee, the coffee from the big expresso machine just doesn't taste that good
>>
>>52303918
I like siphon. Cleaning ect is a pain tho. I'd rather have it at a cafe.

Siphon in Japan is generally pretty bad for siphon -- questionable beans and poor technique.

Obviously, the coffee makes the biggest difference. It means capsule coffee is a no-go. This son of a bitch never lets me down. No matter how dark the roast is, it's never bitter.
Then, the brewing method.
French press is weak. Probably it cools down too quickly. No foam either so the aroma vanishes.
Coffee machines, on the opposite, use too hot water, even overheated if I'm not mistaken. Never boil you coffee. This is where the most of the bitterness comes from. And they can be pricey.
Geyser coffee makers have the same problem.
Thus, I've settled down on cezve. I fill it with water about 2 cm lower than the brim, then boil the water. Keep it boiling for a minute or two, this softens the water. Then I add the sugar. Three tea spoons. Then I turn off the heat and add 3-4 teaspoons of ground coffee, thoroughly mix it all with a spoon. Then I turn slow heat, to rise the foam. When it starts rising I turn off the heat for good. When grounds settle I preheat my cup then slowly pour the coffee in it. There might be some grounds in the foam, a good idea to settle them down again. It's ready now. While not as fast as coffee machine it's faster than even making tea ofa tea bag,
>>
>>52303149
except that a french press costs 12 dollars and brews elder god tier coffee
>>
>>52304094

you see this

this isn't your every day garden variety autism
>>
seriously man people that put sugar or mlk to there coffee should be killed
>>
>>52304874
if you think french press is weak you have to give it more time, 10min plus and it will over extract
>>
>>52305275
The only thing it will extract after 10 mins is SHIT. And all the aroma is lost.
>>
>Keuring
