To skip certain tracks, to make playlists from multiple albums of same or different authors, anything. And it won't cost you the ability to play an album; creating a playlist with only a single album takes less than 20 seconds even if you didn't set up a catalog, and if you did, it takes under 5 seconds.

All right, fair point. Thing is, while playing fullscreen gaems you can only really use hotkeys to manipulate your player, switching out of the game is usually not an option.

Lemme see...
Play\Pause\Stop, Next\Prev track, player volume up\down, these are obvious. But note that system volume and player volume are different things.
Then there are a few hotkeys I use myself: next\prev playlist, toggle random track, toggle repeat track, open the UI. These are enough to start any track from any playlist without bringing up the UI, and the UI itself has just enough functions - fast search, normal search, library, list of playlists.

Hotkeys and mouse gestures are amazing. Hard to get used to them, but once you do, it's even harder to get used to the lack of them.

I always wondered, why and how people even use OSX? Everything is nailed down, if you don't like the way it works, all you can do is switch to another OS. Perhaps I'm biased because in 2011 it was impossible to turn off cursor acceleration which is absolutely ridiculous, but it can't be that bad.

Well, the Mac Mini I had back then wasn't capable of booting from external storage. The only option was the disk drive, which was broken. Just... why? If it was a fully functional PC with a real BIOS instead of jailed Apple castrate it would not be a problem, but no, this stupid device was jailed beyond all logic and reason.

This anon is correct.
Using jQuery I update the background position to the window position. This is it, with a smaller interval to make it look less hacky; otherwise I keep it rather high, since I rarely drag my windows around and I just need it to resize when I move the tile.

You only need the first episode or two of Index to understand Railgun. I actually watched Railgun first and didn't have much issue. When I did try to watch Index I dropped it out of boredom 12 episodes in.

Sure.
$(document).ready(function(){
// Settings
var interval = 100;
var borderOffset = 2;

// Store variables of the last window position.
var wLeft = window.screenX;
var wTop = window.screenY;

// Check if window has been moved.
setInterval(function(){
if (wLeft != window.screenX || wTop != window.screenY)
{
wLeft = window.screenX;
wTop = window.screenY;
$(window).trigger("move");
}
}, interval);

// Hook to window events.
$(window).resize(function(){UpdateWindow();});
$(window).load(function(){UpdateWindow();});
$(window).bind("move", function(){UpdateWindow();});

// Modify the position of the background.
function UpdateWindow() {
$("#background").css("background-position", -(wLeft + borderOffset - 1) + "px " + -(wTop + borderOffset + 58) + "px");
}
});

Background is a div, this is the CSS of background:
#background {
position: absolute;
width: 100%;
height: 100%;

/* If we use blur, we can choose a very optimized background. */
background: url('http://localhost/start/assets/img/blendy-opt.jpg');
filter: blur(10px); /**/

/* Without blur, we should up the quality a bit. */
/* background: url('http://localhost/start/assets/img/blendy.jpg'); /**/
}

Forgot to mention, you should also change the magic number (58) in the UpdateWindow function, it's the height of the entire tab+navbar, play with it til it fits your background, helps to turn off blur for matching.

Use a VM for testing.
>>
>>52167105
Make a backup of your current system, then make a backup of your linux install right after installation and an update, then you can mess around as much as you want without having to worry about not being able to revert.

Partition SSD, HDD, or get a new storage drive.
Install Linux or Windows 10 on it.
