I've since changed:

Changed to an H100i GTX

But the meme is that nvidia sets your house on fire with their 1.7% yields wood screw cards. You should've listened.

Not my mod, stumbled upon it when looking for alternative hdd mounts.

I should have enough fans and want to keep the case quiet. One of the hard drive bays is blocking a lot of airflow that the overclocked gpu could use.
I'll go with attaching a sheet of aluminium or 2 on the back of the motherboard tray.

Kind of want to buy an 850 evo 500gb m.2. My z97 board cant fully utilize the 950 pro unfortunately.

Also going to overclock my i5 as much as possible. Currently at 4.4ghz @ 1.2v. Think my cooler can be handle my i5 at 1.4v? Its a Thermaltake Frio extreme which is essentially a restamped Silver Arrow.

It does its job and the whole thing is in a nin windowed R5 case. Handles my RAID 10 setup with no problems. Until Zen launches I'm sticking with my i5 and z97 board which is rather strapped for sata ports. My next board will have at least 10. Gotta make due for now though.

Pretty good still, no issues reaching 50-60 fps at 2650x1440 on high-very high for most games. Arma suffers a bit but that goes for high end cpu as well. Don't feel like it's a big bottleneck. At stock speed you really notice how old it is though.
>>
>>51822760
it's awkward with RAM as even RAM on the QVL doesn't work out the box, and asus's AI suite kills the USB ports so i can't plug anything in, it makes me wish i didn't save £10 and went for the Z170X-UD3 instead.
but what i can say is that board is a good overclocker though.

Hey you.

I've been wondering.

What kind of load temps do you have?
>>
>>51823576
My R5 case has duat filters everywhere so honestly, I clean out the case maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks. Just using compressed air cans.
>>
>>51824254
During summer GPU with maxed voltage & power target in normal bios averaged around 62°C with Max peak around 65°C. Sometimes 68°C on particularly hot days, but that was with a moderate senpai curve and the absolute hottest I've ever seen it peak.

I just loaded up GTA V and played for 20 minutes to test temps and today I averaged around 58°C with peaks of 60°C with an ambient temp of 70°F (about 21°C). It's normally about 65°C in my house, so maybe subtract a degree or so from those temps.

CPU is clocked at 4.6ghz 1.24v. In synthetics when I validated my OC a few weeks ago was low 60s. 63°C max peak temp iirc. I don't use prime 95 though (because I've found it to be generally unreliable, but that's a whole other can of worms) so I'd imagine temps would be a bit hotter using that.

Real world load (ie gaming) Lowest core usually peaks about 56°C, hottest peaks about 60°C after going for an hour or two. Normal temps around 54-57°C in most games I think.

I'm sorry that this is long winded and scatterbrained. I never made notes of my temps in notepad or anything so I'm going all by memory.
>>
>>51824886
That's really great. I wonder what temp your VRMs and other components average at in such a small build. Those temps are pretty awesome though.
>>
>>51824976
Vreg temps in OCCT show 44°C right now after letting it run a CPU & GPU test for a little while. I don't really recall it ever popping up any red flags on my head even during summer to be honest. But, I'll pay closer attention and next guts thread I'll post my results.

Offset mode or manuel mode ?

Manual to find your OC speed & voltage settings and stability validation. Then use those settings in offset/adaptive afterwards so you can take advantage of speed stepping.

I should add. That being said, many people do it all in adaptive mode with no trouble.

Fine, I'll post.

I just snapped this pic, sorry for shit lighting.

R9 270X card, AMD FX 8350 Vishera 4.0 GHz 16 gigs of RAM. Fractal Design XL R2 case. Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler with 2 Corsair fans.

Absolutely love the case, don't plan on changing it unless something breaks on it or whatever or I build something gorgeous and want a window again..

Build is about 3 years old now.

Future plans are:
-Dedicated fan controller for the 7 case fans, possibly upgrade all fans to higher output units as they are super quiet right now
-Upgrade GPU to R9 390X, maybe eventually work out cross fire, have not decided on running single vs dual GPU post-upgrade.

I know it's dusty, I need to give it a really good cleanout.

holy shit, somebody actually bought those stick coolers? I'm not kidding I've literally never seen one in the wild they're just so memetastic
>>
>>51833395
too many fans is just a waste of electricity and clutters your case. and makes noise. and moves more dust around etc.

it's like a common mistake first time builders make though. put fucking fans everywhere. can't fit a fan there? better buy an 80mm... kek.

Idk what's up with all these fans anon..

I got a Carbide air 540
FX-8320 OC'ed (evo212)
MSI gaming GTX 970 OC'ed

Temps while playing fallout 4 all settings maxed out
CPU: 43c
GPU: 56c@42%

With 1 140mm fan turned on in the case

With 3 140mm fans turned on, cpu is 2c colder, gpu same temps

Why, tell me why you waste your money on fans when you can save it for something else, lets say a better PSU for example.

I got a R9 390 bro I need all the air I can get
Also there is another fan hiding around the other side that you cant see

I got them running on PWM through a silverstone fan hub so they control quite well with my X99-A mobo

AIO cooler users, how loud is your pump?

Mine is currently quite loud even at 70% speed.

How low can one go without worrying about the waterflow not actually flowing?
>>
>>51836276

Just think, you can make the noctua fans look even better now.

Is it actually better for the temps of the GPU to put the soundcard under the GPU not in the slot over it?
>>
>>51839154
>How loud is your pump?
I currrently have a h110i gtx and i have too admit mine is at 66% atm and louder than my noctua nf a 14 running around 500rpm
>>
>>51839642
Yeah it's really loud.
All the reviews I read for mine said it was quiet. But I guess those people run 6000rpm fans.
>>
>>51839678
Haha that´s true.
If i had used the normal fans that come with the aio i wouldn´t hear a single rattle from the because they are like Jetturbines(although they would be pretty okaish if they weren´t that loud).
Which aftermarket fans do you use?

>>51839810
I got the cooler and case from Fractal Design, so it's their GP12/14 fans since they come with the case and cooler. Also white/black to match the rest of the case.

The fans are currently at 400rpm, basically turned off. So the pumps high pitched noise is killing the whole idea of a silent system.

I guess I'll try running the pump at very low for a few days and go by the temps.
>>
>>51839857
Yeah i think it isnt too much the loudness of the pump it´s more this high pitched noise that is freaking me out.
Yeah that would be an good idea but unfortunately i can´t go further down with the pumps rpm.
I´m even thinking about getting the noctua D-15.

That shit looks so retarded going into each rad before each next water block.

Like some one got confused and lost along the way but eventually found their way again.

How much in general does a second GPU add to games

I am somewhat disappointed to my 980 TIs performance and am considering a second one

>>51817422
How you finding the GTX 670s OP? I'm just on the one and everything still runs pretty well.
>>
>>51842615
It's not a completely illogical loop and really doesn't look bad at all. The only thing I could see that could be changed is to rotate the top rad and have it connected straight to the bay res/pump and then to the CPU block.

Have never heard it. I wear headphones. The only time I've ever heard anything from my computational internals is when running AIDA 64 100% CPU/GPU load. By then its the fans I hear, not my pump. Outside of synthetic 100% load tests I cannot hear my PC ever.
>>
Are there any cheap modular power supplies? It doesn't have to be fully modular, the thing is though, I only need mobo, cpu, a 6 pin and 2 sata power and about 450-500 watts, but currently from my old build, I have a 900watt psu that isn't modular, and being that high wattage theres enough cables running off it to run 2 computers just about.

It would make my guts look 10x better to have no spaghetti but I can't find any reasonably priced stuff.
