Filling the loop, the tube from my fill port on top of the case extends below the res built into my front rad so I have to blow into it to force the water round. I shall fix this at some point by getting a separate res now that I can fit one on the motherboard tray. At the same time I may get some proper barbed fittings, maybe compressions depending on how much money I feel like blowing.

Also getting to those front panel and USB headers was quite rage inducing, should've done that before putting the graphics cards in.

Aren't you the anon who was rocking a dual CPU setup? Dual Xeons if I'm not mistaken. What made you push to a 4790k?

And your loop is looking a bit murky. Might want to drain completely. Refill. What aare you using in your water? Any anti-bacterial or maybe a kill coil in the res?

Dont get an AiO on and AMD system. The northbridge and VRM heatsink usually are kept cool because of the nearby cpu heatsink. Replacing the heatsink with a waterblock means they'll run much hotter. Does your case allow for a good heatsink?

Im coming from personal experience. I had an fx-9370 under custom water and the NB and VRM heatsinks would get so hot I couldnt keep my finger on them for more than a few seconds. This was on a Sabertooth 990fx board and high overall airflow case too.

>someone is growing in your loop
You mean something? It's not, just a slight build up of something like limescale. Not a huge issue, next time I rebuild the loop I may tear the blocks and pump apart and give them a good clean.

>>51781018
Aye that's me. There's a few reasons I upgraded; for the modern features like SATA III, USB 3.0, and M.2; for less power draw and heat output; better single/low threaded performance with similar multithreaded performance; and I was getting low performance from the graphics cards for some reason.

>What aare you using in your water?
Just water, was straight distilled but when refilling this time I ran out and just used tap water. As above I don't believe it's a huge issue, there was even a build on I think Martin's Liquid Lab that ran for a year or more with straight tap water with no problems.

(Yes, if you have 6 fans blowing out there will be a heavy negative pressure in the case which will pull dust in through every hole)
>>
>>51786768
I don't push the fans above 40%, so on idle, it's the pump that makes the most noise, which is like 14-16db.
During load its the gpu fans that makes the most noise, could be like 25-30db.
And that is with the top panel open for the radiator.

>>
>>51787018
It's Masterkleer, maybe I'll try something else next rebuild. The whole loop is copper so galvanic corrosion shouldn't be a problem. When I get a res I'll probably chuck a kill coil in anyway but I don't think I'll bother with fancy liquids, had some EK coolant in the past and that ended up blocking my old pump and stopping it.

I wouldn't bother with screwing drives to the back of the motherboard tray, unless you don't mind pulling everything out to remove the drive/add another one. If you are going to do it then screw some right angled sheet metal to the drive and then screw that to the tray, that way all screws are accessible from the back.
>>
>>51787994
Nice
>screw some right angled sheet metal to the drive and then screw that to the tray.
Yep, that was the plan. Currently have too many hdd in my case and not enough airflow so I want to remove some bays. thinking of gluing some thin pieces of wood or plastic and then screw the mounting bracket on that. Don't think I have enough space between the tray and the mobo for the screws otherwise.

This one is also pretty orginal.

Well I started customizing my prebuild before i custom made my own to be honest.
Start small anon.

the build before this one 13th build had a Athlon x2 in it or K8
it was built on a HP case i found most of its parts where half secondhand and half new

I admitt only my gpu, ssd, case and ram are bought from new the rest is second hand
You have to be careful buying second hand but if the price is good go for it.

If your poor the best you can do is go for a mid range cpu and put a good GPU on top.
my FX6100 has trouble keeping up with my 380 4gb but its worth it even though my cpu is 2 years old
Or you can buy the best cpu for your money and get a random video card then upgrade slowly but your cpu will last a long time so yes its hard as firist but pace your self plan out your build

I went full performance over looks, but now i'm not sure :/
but for you just do what you want don't let /g/ tell you other wise.

The programs I use are not really demanding at all. The only demanding thing would be emulators. I hear dolphin and pcsx2 run much better on Intel than amd. Currently on a 8320 and there's quite a bit of stutter when playing. Overclocking lessens it but it's still there.
Still how does hyperthreading affect the system other than when rendering stuff? Does multitasking seem noticeably different? Do games run much better(especially for dual gpu systems)? Or is it really placebo and I should just save the 75 bucks? What would you guys do?
>>
>>51803298
Just get the i5, you don't need hyperthreading of an i7 if you're not doing anything like video rendering and things of the sort. Hyperthreading won't affect anything else on the system. It might net you a few more frames in a few games if you have dual GPUs, but even then it's not necessary. And nothing that you (specifically you) do will be able to take advantage of it, outside of benchmarks. Not worth the price premium.

I knew, what an AIO was, but for it to be able to have custom piepes, fittings and coolant, you would need some sort of opening to fill it and release the bubbles as well as ports for the fittings to go. So I thought you wouldn't call it all AIO anymore and surely not CLC, because you have to add all these other things.

Are you just shit posting or what? It is a work in progress, the cables will be fixed asap, I just put it together yesterday, Custom loop is next on the list of things to buy. The red LEDs are a temporary stop gap, going to buy more fans next week.

Only legitimate concern is the sag on the bays, when I reconfigure them I'll look into it, I mostly just wanted all the components in their places, clean up and tweaking is the next step, which includes getting the "Wires everywhere" cleaned up.

The more I work on it the better I will get. It's actually kind of fun, sorting out the problems and finding solutions to make it look good and function great.

I like all the extra space, and eventually there will be two or three ginormous rads in there, it's just going to take time. I'm not a rich fag, but this is my hobby, so I can't afford to drop 600 bucks on custom cooling components all at once.
>>
Hey guys. I will probably be sleeving my own cables. Where can I buy the stuff if I'm located in eu/sweden?

I happen to have a semi modular psu and I hate how the cables coming out from the psu look.

It's either that or buying a modular psu and custom sleeved cables and I would guess that is a lot more expensive.

>Are server motherboards meme?
For more regular uses, such as gaming, they seem to be becoming so.

>What are the perks?
Depending on the CPUs chosen you can have very high multithreaded performance for a relatively low cost. You also have a much higher max RAM support and on most boards a lot of available slots to do so. Then there are other benefits associated with using Xeons, ECC support for example.

>And do i really need ecc?
A lot of boards either say they don't support non-ECC or just don't mention it at all. That said the Intel board I had supported non-ECC even though the manual said it was "not supported and not validated for use in a server environment". It also said mixing vendors and capacity is not supported or validated, yet I ran it with 3x4GB and 3x8GB. I never got around to trying that memory in my Super Micro board as I got 32GB of ECC for dirt cheap.

After doing the whole dual CPU thing I can say it's fun to build and play around with, it can offer some very good performance for the money in certain situations, but it can also have a shit load of drawbacks. I don't regret doing it, however I am glad I've now moved onto something more modern even if it is more expensive.

If you can stand to wait (there really isn't any rush) then you certainly should wait. Wait for second gen skylake / pascal. That said you can get a new case now just to "spruce things up". Form factors and mounting places aren't going to change any time soon.

Games aren't coming close to 4gb of RAM at 1080p. You will almost never reach 3.5. There are a few exceptions, but not many.

If you are going to be playing in 1440p, you won't hit 60fps with that card on ultra and you might hit 3.5 more frequently.

Either wait for Pascal, buy a 390X if you can afford the watts, or get a 980ti. Don't buy a 970 if you plan on playing in 1440p.

I'd appreciate a brighter picture so I could see more. That tubing layout looks really great and unbelievably clean, but I can't really tell 100%.

I looks awful, especially considering your case has cable management holes. The EPS cable looks like it's actually being stressed.

Sadly the best I have as it's dark outside by the time I'm home. But all of the tubing is behind the motherboard. They just come out of the top and bottom into the CPU and GPU waterblock. Though it's got a 80mm thick 360 on the bottom, 80mm thick 240 in the front, and a 60mm thick 420mm up top.

He might have meant 240v.
Europoor uses 240v and USGEY uses 120v
Using 240v in a 120v region shouldn't damage the computer though, it should just not turn on.

Not really. The case was about $100, so was the D15. The CPU is a 2500k and the GPUs are 670s. It was pretty cheap.
I am going to get some custom cables and do a few mods when I get the time.
