MATLAB is godtier for simulations. You write what you want to test and you can easily graphically view the results and quickly modify until you have something you like. Then, you can do the implementation in C, put it into the controller and you have nothing but minor gain tuning to do.
MATLAB also have a shit ton of algorithms pre-implemented for you. I especially use it to compute the coefficients for FIR filters using the built in designer.
Finally, it's also good for one shot scripts. Things you do once and never touch again. I had fun implementing some "autotune"-like to make my voice sound like a robot and some script kiddy tier image processing because I was just curious.
Some other guys will tell you that they do the same using Python and numpy but actually I find MATLAB much more complete and easy to use.
But it's pretty expensive so either your company is paying it for you or you pirate it.

Got 2 monitors one is 16:9 other is 5:4, if I'm gaymen, viewing, watching or writing something I use the 16:9 and leave the 5:4 as browser, documents, reading etc.
For porn I use livestreamer and pull up as many videos, cams etc as I can filling up all of the monitor space, the 16:9 can hold 8 videos, 5:4 9 or so.

this required moving all my music into windows media player, however, which became too much of a pain.
