The BMI is a useful measurement for population health, not personal. It doesn't effectively address outlier data like people with large muscle mass.

However because people with large muscle mass are generally rare in random samples of most societies, the BMI is useful because the average "comes out in the wash".

Alternates, I have a volume block where I do 5's and 3's, working up to a top set then dropping the weight maybe 8-10% and doing as many more as I can at a given RPE, and then an Intensity block where I do a week of 5's, a week of 3's, and a heavy singles week, again working up to a heavy single then dropping the weight by maybe 5% and doing some more sets at a given RPE.

Yeah there will generally be a different, closer grip being weaker, and wider grip being stronger (to a certain point). Best idea would be to just pick one grip, usually a medium to slightly wide grip or whatever feels best, and train that consistently. You can use something like a close grip bench as an assistance, but keep your primary bench consistent.

Yes and no. It's ok to train closegrip - but find the grip that is most effective for your "competition" grip and train that primarily. It's a big source of contention here actually - lots of /plg/ers will say wider is better, other will argue that too wide reduces your ability to recruit the largest amount of muscle mass. Find the grip that is most comfy, and stick with it.

So, my girl competes in PL (equipped), at about 60kg bw.
Her lifts are novice/intermediate, while her training history is that of a novice (about a year in, doing typical Pl programs from her coach (a month of "hypertrophy"/volume, then a few weeks tapering, even if she's not going to compete).

Now, she wants to do raw lifting and drop a weightclass, but her coach doesn't really care for raw lifting, and keeps giving her hypertrophy- and geared lifting aimed programs for her to gain weight on.

What would you suggest she should do? getting a new coach is not an option.

Help me /PLG/...

I have a nagging injury that I need advice for.

Here are the symptoms:

>pullups and pullovers aggravate it the worst

lel, I wouldn't worry about that, just follow these simple rules:
-Don't lift with retarded form (a slight curvature of your spine while deadlifting is acceptable, for example)
-Always warm up properly

extra heel doesn't make you increase knee travel if you you hinge correctly with your hips, it just ALLOWS you to bend more at the knees because it helps with ankle mobility. That being said, if you're afraid of too much heel just go for some adidas powerlifts 2, they're cheap and the heel is just an inch or so
