Part 3 is my least favorite but at least the last 5 books are fun, the anime drags the hell out. Read the manga, Part 4 is amazing and pray for Part 7 anime in the future because the best "no homo" romance ever will finally get more attention.

Clamp had a huge hand in making Jotaro/Kakyoin such a powerhouse. SDC has also been the most popular part by a landslide for ages. It's mostly due to exposure, I'd say.
There's a fuckton of Dio doujins and fanart nowadays though, I don't know what you're complaining about. It's not on the same level as JotaKak, no, but it's still more than most series get overall.
