You're raising an interesting point as I feel like trying to hammer down something that doesn't want to get into your skull isn't as productive as actually letting it pass and getting back to it sometime later - if that makes sense.
I also feel like there's a time limit at how much reps one (or at least I, in this case) can take in one day. I feel very productive on anki the first 30min or so but past that point I'm starting to feel a bit restless and I don't feel as focused anymore. Of course breaks are important and I sometimes take them but I also feel like breaks are double-edged. If I let my reps languish for too long it'll just bother me during the day and kind of prevent me from being productive at other things.
