I recently beat Apollo Justice and I really enjoyed it, but people think it's the worst in the series, even worse than JFA. Aside from being a bit anti climactic and having this super duper evil villain that didn't deserve to be one, it was a great game. I liked it a lot, probably on par with T&T, but people have a massive boner for that game, even though 3-3 was kind of a bad case and 3-4 was just filler and 3-5 having the bad guy be you know who for no particular reason
Plus, at least so far, it has the best OST in the series and for me the music plays a huge part in the game. Almost every track is perfect. If I mixed and matched it with AA1, it would be literally perfect.

I've started playing AAI and so far it's kind of disappointing. The first case is pretty good for a first case, but the music is very mediocre. Hopefully case 2 and onward are pure gold...
Also, I like Klavier. He might not be as much of a treat, but at least he's different to every. single. other. prosecutor.

ALSO Rise from the Ashes fanboys never shut up about "how bad" Ema is. From a generic moeblob, to actually having some character development. She was basically another Maya and people loved her. Trucy is also another Maya but they hate her. I don't get it. People have some kind of weird attachment to the trilogy and I can't really put my finger on it. I'd say nostalgia, but they played it on a DS, not a GBA and the games pretty much came one after another

Agree with both of these hardcore, AA is actually my favorite game in the series. As much as I like Phoenix, seeing him in a sort of fall from grace was very, very interesting. People keep forgetting that this was what the original writer Shu Takumi wanted and every game after this one aside from Layton vs hasn't been written by him and probably hasn't been the way he wants the characters' story arcs to go. He clearly felt Phoenix's story was over and wanted to bring in someone new.
I will always be super bitter about how many unanswered questions there were with AA as well. The biggest one of course is the black psyche locks but besides that, Apollo's an orphan. Did Kristoph just pick him up from the orphanage and train him? How traumatizing can it possibly be to have your first case as a greenhorn lawyer and end up putting your mentor and possible father figure on death row because you followed the direction of a personal hero and he ended up giving you evidence that was technically false?
So much good shit. Squandered. I loved DD and thought it was really well done but they threw away so much character development and I want. More. Apollo. Justice. Seriously, they even had him act like Kristoph for one of the cases in Dual Destinies but just as a motif, they didn't even dig any deeper into it than that.

I loooove the AA soundtrack! No exaggeration when I say my final exams would have been a full letter grade or two lower wihout it- that shit gets me so focused and ready to study. Look up the extended versions of my fav songs on YouTube, set them to auto reply, and I can study for hours.
Only thing I remember really not liking about the game is having to read "panties" 500 times. *shudder* Especially coupled with "daddy"- what were they thinking?
