If it's specific books you're lookiing for, you can try contacting a shopping service; they usually run through small sites or livejournal and shit, and it's just someone living in Japan or with a contact who can go shop for you. Usually they focus on events but you can ask if they will go to shops for you as well, and buy from Japanese only sites like yahoo japan auctions etc. They can charge quite a bit on top of the cost of the book and shipping though so prepare yourself. If you find good ones that are trustworthy though the extra cost is worth it though. I've used fanservices.livejournal before most recently, they do pretty good, and they do events, shops and online shops.
