Not that anon, but I noticed it too. Of all the Star Wars blogs I follow, all the Driver-bashing seems to come from the Finn ones. I don't see it from any of the Rey, Poe, OT or PT focused ones. Course I'm not saying all Finn fans are like this (one of them loves Driver) or that there aren't any non-Finn fans who also hate him. But it's disappointing to know I'm not the only one seeing this.
Like, I see lots of posts complaining about how Driver is an overrated terrible actor who's been "stealing" Boyega's spotlight purely because of white privilege even though he's way older and more established as an actor (and my preemptive apologies, but with a face like that, the only way to make it big is sheer skill). Or that Kylo Ren's popularity and the emo jokes are proof SW fandom is racist, because this totally wouldn't happen if Kylo was played by a black guy and how "proper" fans would draw Kylo boiling puppies all the time instead. Or people calling Asian artists racist because they like drawing Kylo more than Finn, or a friend of a friend (who is half-black) getting hate in her inbox because her OTP is Kylux instead of either of the two big Finn ships.
It's all super weird to me because almost every Kylo fan I've seen likes Finn or Stormpilot just fine. The hate's one-sided. It really does seem like sour grapes from people upset their favorite isn't popular enough, and while that's too bad because I like Finn a lot, you don't change things by bullying people. It's crazy. Sad too, since Boyega seems like a really cool guy who wouldn't appreciate the fans tearing coworkers down in his name.
Writefag here. I'm going to try and write something based on the Matt stuff that folks were throwing around in the last thread. My idea at this point is: Matt gets gangbanged by the crew once, and realizes he really enjoyed it. Whenever Kylo needs to take a break, Matt shows up again.
