Granted, I'm only familiar with it as when used as a diuretic in congestive heart failure and hypertension, but there's a risk of screwing up your electrolyte balance since it's primarily an aldosterone inhibitor, meaning it will raise the potassium levels and reduce the sodium levels in the body. There's a reason patients are recommended to get regular blood tests while taking it.
