Out of boredom I looked up "Random Horror Story Generator" on Google. I found this website that gives you ideas for protagonist, antagonist, what drives the plot, etc. I have the link to the website here and and I'm curious to know what people choose for their story elements. Here's the link: https://davidmauricegarrett.com/2013/06/06/random-horror-story-generator/
This is how I chose mine as an example:
Protagonist:Eccentric Artist
Antagonist: Unnamed/Unseen malevolent force
What drives the plot: Writings in a diary, log, or journal
When: a traumatic event
Where: Town with a dark secret
Have Fun :)

Here's what I rolled.
Protagonist
>2 – Occult Detective
Antagonist
>11 – Mad scientist
What drives the plot
>3 – Artifact of death or doom
When
>10 – Significant astrological event
Where
>8 – Cemetery or burying ground
This sounds like the worst hack shit ever.
this is actually kind of handy? thanks op
random roll -
protagonist - unknowingly blundering into horror
antagonist - cosmic horror
plot devices - diary, log, or journal
when - a séance
where - hospital/asylum
maybe a summoning or something instead of a seance, seances aren't that spooky
Protagonist - Person unknowingly blundering into horror
Antagonist - Occultist trying to summon evil forces
Plot devices - Buried alive, trapped, or entombed
When - Full moon
Where - Creepy basement or attic
I can't see the device working too well with everything else. in fact, nothing coincides with each other besides the protagonist and antagonist.

I think that it all depends on how you look at the situation; unlikely shit happens and it all ends up making sense in the end.
I wonder if /tg/ rolls work here...

Nope. Fuck me. But a roll gave me
>Priest
>Creepy child
>Myth, legend, or urban legend come true
>During a seance
>Ancient tomb or ruin
Fuck me, I hate exorcism stories... but I think I can twist this into something different.

>Protagonist:Eccentric Artist

>What drives the plot: Writings in a diary, log, or journal
>When: a traumatic event
>Where: Town with a dark secret
Literally the plot of half of H.P. Lovecraft's stories.
I did it a few times, this was one of the better ones:
>Protag.: Immoral Person getting their comeuppance
>Antag,: Unamed or unseen malevolent force
>MacGuffin: Cruel or unusual death or torture
>When: Significant astrological event
>Where: A hospital or asylum
Really the When is the only one that clashes with the other.
