Are there any scientific articles which demonstrate any health effects of crystals? Obviously I don't mean consuming them or anything, but simply being near them or holding them or what not.

They actually do the opposite of store energy. In order to form the lattice bonds of a crystal, chemical energy has to be given off in the form of heat and light. The stronger the bond, the less energy remains in it.
