If I recall correctly, it's art from a person with dissassociative personality disorder. The common theory is that the images represent child abuse and the 'faded' figures represent either the abused or the abuser dissassociating from their role.
The one with the teddy bear is about how attachments children make can be manipulated by abusers.

So this may be impossible, but I remember an old painting a saw a long time ago, it was in my old English textbook back in 9th grade I think. Anyone know the painting?
It was accompanying the short story "The Most Dangerous Game."
It was a picture of a dog, pretty abstract, overall very blue, with the dog having red teeth and eyes. Similar style to the picture I've included.
I believe it was named "The Hounds" or "The Hounds of Xiu" or something. It's been too long. Anyways, this thread reminded me of it's existence and now it's gonna bug me all night.
