I've downloaded a bunch of guided meditation audio files and they are all problematic to one degree or another.

-The guide talks too much
-The guide asks you questions, which you instinctually answer and break your concentration
-The guide has a harsh voice
-The guide tries to put you to sleep, which is the last thing you should do.

So, can anyone recommend a good audio file or iPhone app that gently coaxes you down without yapping endlessly in your ear and breaking your focus?

jon kabat zinn had some good ones iirc, anyway you're probably gonna have to lower your standards to some extent

I've been using Stop, Breathe and Think. Pretty good. I have noticed an occasional question, but the guides voice is very soft and gives you time to sit quietly.

Why do you say that about lowering my standards?

Just listen to music. If you can't reach gnosis without some fool jabbering in your ear then you're not really looking within or practicing this stuff in association with your own volition and clarity.

Alan Watts without music or Papaji. You are welcome.

on the topic of meditation

which guide do you guys follow, or where did you learn how to meditate?

i learned from satanic site, which a guide suggested because it actually had really good meditation guides

^This or find some Buddhist Monk temple sounds.

Anything natural should help you get there, but it shouldn't be about the guide so much unless you want a yogi/master, in which case if you're not face to face, it's fraud.

I've been curious on mediation, when I look it up, I get stupid shit about getting close to God. I'm looking for some legit meditation, not trying to find Jesus in myself, help?
