I want some info on staying anonymous on .onion links. I want to visit some sites but tor is apparently compromised by NSA etc. A friend of mine said if I want to stay anonymous and use tor, all I need is addons for the tor browser. He did not know the names of said addons or where to aqquire them, he suggested I come and ask on 4chan. I'm posting this on /x/ coz if I post it in /b/ this thread will probably not be taken seriously... Is it true what he says? What addons do I need to aqquire? Where do I get them? How can I ensure my anonymity on tor/.onion sites? Please elaborate a bit...

be careful about how you set it up of course. being 100% secure and anonymous is damn near impossible, and generally the NSA have their eyes and hands in a bit of everything everywhere... complete with an innumerable army of shills all around the world
you could look into a "compartmentalized OS", as well
there is Qubes, but i think there are other OSs' of that nature, aside from Qubes
