Asking others for their experiences without specifying "with precisely what?" won't get you much. As for the second part of your question, you pretty much just bought the best place to start if you honestly have zero prior experience.

Read Liber MMM (the first twelve or so pages in the book) and actually do what it says. No less than thirty minutes a day for about half a year. In the vanishingly unlikely case that you feel you haven't experienced anything interesting you can build on once this time period has elapsed, you are advised to choose not to believe in magic and devote yourself to other matters.

Don't use or pay attention to sigils that you haven't created yourself.
