Any fellow Manson enthusiasts around here? I've been on and off reading about the guy and listening to his music / phone conversation recordings for about five years. Is he a political prisoner? Is he a cult leader? What are hisconnections to the Church Of Satan / Process Church, Krishna Venta and MK Ultra? Why did the prosecution fake his height? (pic related)

manson sings, he's pretty good, that song was adapted by the beach boys as "never learn not to love", black francis from the pixies also was inspired by "cease to exist" and he begins the lyrics of wave of mutilation with "cease to exist, giving my goodbye"
The whole Helter Skelter motive that the DA put forth in 69 seems like a bunch of bullshit once you think about it. The story that Manson and all involved (except two of the people who actually MURDERED the people at Tate's / LaBianca's) tell about it being a copycat murder to get Bobby Beausoleil out of jail adds up much better. Not to mention how the trial was utilized in the media to effectively end the eco-revolutionary faction of the hippie movment.

lol, whut? it's not about measuring from the edge of his foot which is perspectively under the edge of the wall (which I think is what you're implying?). it's about someone having moved the scale up about half a foot so he seems half a foot smaller. it can't be a perspective issue because the scale is flat on the wall. Actually, I think this is almost a valid plan. I don't exactly think we should go around murdering people but we desperately need to reduce the human population on this planet and at this point, murder almost seems like a good idea since the selfish assholes can't stop fucking and having babies for no reason (often born into poverty and terrible situations where they suffer horribly). So yes, he was a whacko but maybe he was also a thinker because he was right that the population has to go down.

He jumped on the flower power movement of the late 60s and all the impressionable youths that had a care free attitude and got them to kill people he considered rivals

If you are still around OP, last month I listened to a pretty good podcast on Charles Manson and the Family. It was really comprehensive and detailed all the Family members as well as the people around them and the murder victims. I have to confess my Manson interest kicked off after watching the movie Manson Family Vacation.
After watching the docos, interviews and listening to the phone conversations I don't think Manson himself believes what he says. I think he just spouts off whatever comes to his head to impress or affect whomever is listening to him at the time. They search for the hidden meaning in his words because others have touted him as a 'guru'.
Turns out there is no hidden meaning, it's just Manson doing what he has always done to survive and get ahead. He shrouds everything in double talk to confuse the listener.
On trial wasn't just the Family for the Tate/La Bianca murders, it was the whole hippie counterculture. I find the whole story fascinatingly repulsive and have a bizarre urge to know more.
