nigga thats the head of a surfacing giant squid. he probably died
>>
Looks like a feeding baleen whale.

Their mouths get freakishly engorged when they're feeding.
>>
what's kraken guys
>>
kewl I guessed it was a kraken in the last thread by comparing it to the size of ships during pirate eras ect.
They say the giant squid is the infamous kraken but a 50 foot squid isint gonna break a 200 foot long Brig
this is big enough to actually damage a brig and a brigatine
maybe there slowly gonna tell us things and maybe even deceive us into believing something is what it is when it doesn't really appear to be so.

It would make sense that we're starting to see stuff like this now we have the technology to get audio and visuals from anywhere on the planet. Really the Bloop and this squid-thing should be expected. Dunno if this is genuine, but it's pretty kewl whatever the case.

It does look like a squid; however the size is just so wrong. From this angle it's mantle is 23 meters/75 feet long; and due to the angle that makes it look much shorter. If this is indeed the mantle of a squid this is kraken-tier.
>Of more than 130 Architeuthis specimens that the authors have examined, none has attained a mantle exceeding 2.25m (7.4 feet), or total length of 13m (42 feet).
>This is more than 10 times bigger than a colossal squid
https://www.tonmo.com/pages/giantsquidfactsheet/

As to what the fuck it's actually doing that's even more weird; it looks like it's attacking something much bigger than a whale.

I honestly think it looks like the head of a squid. I mean, the ocean is the perfect place for a giant. Years ago people didn't believe the giant squid was real, the we found one, then something bigger, a colossal squid. This could be a size up from that.
>>
>>17819123

For the record, we actually don't know how large Giant Squids can get. While it may be something we've never seen before, its still possibly a squid.
>>
>>17819613
Yeah my money is on a squid; a monstrous squid that has never been seen in recent times or discovered by modern science; the actual kraken of myths.

Now, what the fuck is it latched on to? Another kraken?

1. it dosen't look like a whale at all
2. it's much bigger than a whale. Blue whales reach 30m, humpback whales like you posted reach 16m.
>>
>>17818971

Rum
>>
>>17819627
I'm guessing not, colossal squids are so accustomed to the deeper depths of the ocean that being this close to the surface would kill it.

That is, unless this thing had already died and it body floated to the surface

It's a fucking rock, nothing else. This was already debunked in the last thread
>>
>>17819640
>it's much bigger than a whale

It's not. Blue whales grow 100 ft, and that's how big the object in the picture is. It's only larger when people include the splash it's making as the entire object.

Also it's so out of focus you can't tell if it's one whale or more. Whales feed in pods.
>>
>>17820076
rocks don't create currant patterns in such ways. this is obviously a diving animal.
>>
>>17820194
>current patterns

Those are called waves, anon. They create that pattern when they run into the shore. Rocks, for example.
>>
>>17819627
Some squid are cannibalistic, so possibly.
>>
>>17820070
Possible that if it was fighting a whale it got pulled to the surface.
Possible that it's just it's carcass.
Possible that the sulfur compound in its body became unbalanced and it has been hanging at different depths.
>>
>>17820076
It wasn't debunked. That rock is 30km away, and this is only 13km away.

Somebody should go to that location and see if they're still fighting. It's probably a really long fight.
>>
>>17820168
It's not so much an issue of size as shape, a whale tail is different looking than a squids head.

I honestly don't see why giant squids/krakens or whatever are so hard to believe. The ocean is a fast place with a wide variety of life, with new species being discovered every day. Oceanic creatures have the ability to get much larger than land creatures because of their environment, since they don't have to worry about being crushed by their own weight.

I am not saying for a fact that the kraken is real, I'm just saying it doesn't seem all that implausible. If they are out there, it's only a matter of time before we get some hard evidence for it.
>>
>>17820367
>giant squids
>are so hard to believe
they arent. they are confirmed. They exist

but thats noit the case here
see:
>>17820286
>>17820327

also:
it would be pretty unlikely for one to appear on google maps
>>
>>17820367
I believe in giant squid, anon. Even colossal squid.

But squid don't breach themselves out of the water. Especially in locations where it's known there's a giant rock.

Usually you should look for simpler explanations first rather than silly ones.

>>17820424
Well yeah, I'm not disagreeing with you. Sorry, should have been clear on my stance, I don't necessarily believe the google maps pic is actually a kraken, I was just commenting on the subject of such a large squid's existence in general. Although if it's a species that we aren't familiar with, then it COULD have some adaptation that let's it breach the surface for short times.

I'm just discussing and speculating in general, not making absolute claims one way or another. Sorry for the confusion.

Wait...actual undeniable evidence?

And you fucking retards were hoping for a the kraken. There are actual maritime atlases of the zone in Internet, but what the hell, let's make retards assumptions and disregard every evidence.

This fucking place, filled with literal mentally ill people. This is going to be a fun summer.

I'm going to laugh so fucking hard at you retards when a daylight satellite picture comes out, showing the fucking rock.
> inb4 pic is part of boilerplate/x/'s conspiracy template
> imma schilling
>>
>>17822047
I think this is thousand times better, than tulpas and shit. At least we could work with evidence here.

Also, the idea of giant sea creatures isnt really something you have to be mentally ill to "believe" in. Whales and giant squids exist.

The small rock "island" isnt something very ordinary either, so it took people a while to consider it.

I would prefer more "mystery" threads over spiritual bullshit
>>
>>17818886
I would have dismissed it as a small island and a simple coincidence, but those waves.
>>
So how long is 96 yards?
>>
