loud tapping at night (i don't live in apartments i live in suburbs). has been reoccurring for weeks. should i ignore it or do something?

Not to spoil the fun it it's probably a rodent or bird or something if it's coming from the outside. Or a tree branch, something like that. Try to locate the sound and check outdoors.

This happened to me over a span of ten years. It would happen nightly for about a month and then not happen again for about a year. It moved rooms with men and would happen whether I was in the house alone or not.
Always a hard single knock on the wall right above my head. Would repeat a few times throughout the night but never right next to each other.
I use to sell weed out of my window and people would just come knock. It sounded exactly like ygat but tree was no one there when I would look. This persisted long after I stopped dealing.
