one was a camera with some vaguely creep pictures taken at night, but was probably just a result of the camera flash being used as a light.
it was a simple hike, but they didnt prepare for anything. One probably got injured and the other went looking for help but got lost along the way.

They got lost and fucked around for a while then one fell and broke a bone and slowly succumbed to that while the other tried to stay with her. Pretty horrible. Always take a whistle with you when hiking and if that doesn't draw attention start a big ass smoky fire.

Thanks. That's kind of what I'd need to get up to speed on what sounded from the OP like a rumor with no substance. If it's just a translation problem then I can understand why it's hard to piece together. If the same hearsay bullshit happens in the Dutch forums then it might still be a rumor, but without being fluent in Dutch we wouldn't know.

Okay, theres certainly a case to be made for preparing for the worst, and I would... but the trail they set out on is about as tough as a walk in the park... literally... i've done it. They walked up to the continental devide, and something happened on the way back.
Think of it, they had literally just done the trail, and on the way down got lost? I really really doubt it. the only possible scenario is one got injured, that kept them there until nightfall, and then they got turned around in the dark and went deeper and deeper into the wood. but they were so close to peoples homes, wouldnt one have just followed the trailer back for help?

another thing, a photo taken about a half an hour before the first 911 (pulled from their phones log, it never connected) shows them right beside the trailer, new a known section of the forest used for zip line and other outdoor activities (you can see nets in the photograph). so they were not yet lost, but had need to call 911?

No, the photo was taken a half an hour before the 911 call so we can presume something happened in that half an hour. I presume they fell and tried to circle around to the trail but became disoriented. As I understand it and from the photos available from their recovered phone it seemed like there were plenty of drop-offs.

A shoe with the foot still in it suggest nothing then they died clothed. its a common phenomenon with most discovered remains, the shoe preserves the foot. They probably didn't die from an animal attack as there was no signs of fractures on what bone they did find (you will NOT come out of a jaguar attack that leaves you dead without broken bones) they were most likely just picked clean by scavengers. Insects in the jungle with take a body down to bone in a day or two.
