Let's get an /x/ related book thread.
>aliens show up
>impossibly superior
>won't show their appearance for unknown reasons
>become our overlords, solve our problems
The best book on reincarnation. Nonfiction, solid research, not a book for fun, reads like a science report most of the time.
I thought the end was kind of retarded. There's like billions of people left on earth but they are just not gonna have any more kids? Even if they would just spacebaby again wouldn't that be a better end result for Karellen and his bunch?
Russian serial killer, collapsing Soviets. Well-written. An awesome read if you're into serial killers.

>but our sacred Freedom is slightly hindered in the process
>we turn against them like the fucking apes we are
>they could easily crush us, but decide to leave Earth in a mix of pity and disgust
>we celebrate dancing around a huge pyre
>it was all an allegory of communism in the end
Hey, I'm just guessing.

How about you minimise your spoiling ways first of all? Not that it'll make such sense to others, but still.
The way evolution works is often that everyone who doesn't have the right configuration just dies.

Very, very wrong the whole way through. Read it.

That's not how evolution works. Species are not immediately replaced by their successors.

>That's not how evolution works. Species are not immediately replaced by their successors.
Fucking moron, can you read?
Let me show it to you again:
>The way evolution works is often that everyone who doesn't have the right configuration just dies.
That doesn't say "everyone dies", fuckface. That's not what happens in the book, either.
And yes, we're discussing books, fucktard. No wonder you didn't like the ending: you don't have a goddam clue what happened you absolute retard.
>thinks they died
Fuck's sake.
Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea's "Illuminatus Trilogy" is a fairy tale like no other for conspiracy theorists - released in the mid 70's under the idea of "what if every conspiracy theory was totally true, and committed by the same people". It's satire, but fucking mindblowing - the syncronicity that I experienced with that novel was beyond anything I'd ever imagined. 10/10, gets better every time you read it.

>the syncronicity that I experienced
Pray tell, cocksucker.

If all of those are the same person, and I believe you are, chill the fuck out bro.

the number 23 is a numeric enigma of the illuminati in the book, appearing constantly throughout history in relation to important events. the 23 enigma was originated by Borroughs, I'm pretty sure with his concept of '23 skidoo'. check this dude's life to see what I mean - the syncronicity between his life and the book just gets fucked.

the number 23 is often used by discordians in their ongoing operation mindfuck.
They wear cheap purple suits and makeup, they're not the problem, they're nobodies.

Reminder that Half Life 2 is a deconstruction of Childhood's End
What is /x/'s opinion on pic related?
I thought it got off to a good start and really liked the first half but the second half was too drawn out and repetitive. I thought it started to get better near the end but wasn't really feeling the actual ending.
