I know there were previous threads about this a few months ago but was there ever a conclusion about this creepy figure that appears on Google maps and stays with you no matter where you move.

It's clearly just an easter egg or conveniently shaped bug shit.
The question is, how far willl it follow you? is it an in-process effect on the image sphere applied after capture but before stitching that can be applied to all google photospheres, or was there something on the lens.
These are the most likely explanations, as there is stitching artifacting, which tends only to happen to things that arent part of the capture, or captured too close to the camera.

I think it is like an Easter egg but only much creepier version. You can exit it and go to the normal street, however you cannot view the street in that specific place because that where this dark room is.
There are Google 2015 copyright logos everywhere so it points to something they have purposefully put there, as a tribute to a movie or a game or something? It's just a small space considering the dimensions of the planet.

Actually, I clicked in its direction and after a few clicks I was out in the daylight.

What the fuck, a 360 view of a dark street? Who does that?
