Any odd cold spots in your house? Don't know? Look around.
^isn't a cliché, it is true.
If there is; do this:
1)Check with aged neighbors who have lived in the area a while, ask if anything unusual has ever happened in your house. If they say yes, inquire further and see if you can get any hard consistent details.
2)If above step yields interesting results: Try to communicate with it. Touch back on info you gathered from neighbors and find an item of significance related to said event and use it to try to communicate.
3)If communication is successful: be polite and ask it what it is doing there, and attempt to communicate to it that you are inconvenienced by its habits/actions during the night. If it is human, it should understand the concept of sleep.
4)If unsuccessful: try exorcism. The Catholic Church actually created an exorcism manual/book for performing them.
