I often mention her in connection with horror even though she's classified as mystery. I have found her books more disturbing than your run-of-the-mill murder mystery. they give me the same uneasy feeling as a good horror novel. would recommend to anybody who likes both horror and whodunits.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. thinking of rereading it. the copy I bought had the coloured text, and the dark blue was dark enough that I mistook it for black for the first few dozen pages. was a neat little extra jolt when it dawned on me. as in, "shit, what else has been going on in this book that I haven't noticed?"
