What if there have been millions, if not billions of time travelers in the history of the world?
What if the world we live in as we post right now was forged by Time Travelers that did everything they could to prevent total Armageddon until they went extinct?
Think about it. This is the world we live in. If someone were to have traveled back in time to change something, we probably wouldn't exist now, or would have completely different roles in our lives.
It's impossible to travel back in time now, because these are the lives we live in, and if someone tampered with them already, we wouldn't even know,because the deed has already been done.
