Romans would just add other religion gods to their religion to better control the conquered populations, as Christianity was growing up and their beliefs refused to merge Romans "adopted" (rewrote) christianity instead but the costume of adapting foreign religions into their own remained even if now they claim to have only one deity. This is why they changed nordic myth into a sort of prequel to bible and why so many christian holidays have pagan origins. They are just Roman culture adopting stuff to please the conquered masses.

All in all, shit's just making me more confused and suspicious that everyone just pretends this shit is important because it sounds deep.
