With parallel stereogram (which is what these are) it's a bit more difficult, as most people don't know how to make their eyes go parallel, but a good trick to doing it is to focus on something farther away, then slowly look towards the image without changing your focus.

I learned how to move one eye inwards independently of the other. You then take the image that one eye sees and align it at a repeating point on the image and it will stick, the hidden shit will appear in a seemingly deeper area.
The only way I can explain how to move one eye only is by squeezing your eyes inwards. It's similar to the feeling in your chest while doing a push up but in your eyes. Try focusing on nose and then squeeze your eyes inward.

I just went through a lot more trouble than it was worth to hand paint a 3D stereogram compatible dick.
Neat factoid: I learned that soft edges work best when on darker portions, and that you should definitely not use softer edges on closer/lighter portions.

It oscillates between two frames to simulate the shape. Having two eyes allows your brain to see both images at the same time if you sort of cross your eyes or look at the image like you're looking into the distance... they're really hard to get until one day you just suddenly see it flip. You kinda have to look past the image. Like let your eyes out of focus, as in you're trying to space out into the image. Your eyes must come apart from each other slowly until you see "into" the image, pretend you're focusing on something behind your monitor
fuck all yall, I'm gonna tell you fools who could never use these things how to see magic eye, cause everyone who ever tried to explain it to me did a shit job til I finally figured it out on my own.
first thing you need to know is that what youre looking for isnt a completely new image. what you see at face value is basically just any random texture for the illusion to be built on. what you actually end up seeing in the end js a 3D shape popping up off the background.
and as far as actually getting to see this, first and foremost fuck that "look past the image" shit, that's completely not helpful at all. what you're gonna wanna do is sort of blur your vision while looking at it, you know that thing where you bring your eyes out of focus so the vision from each one crosses over top of each other. cross your eyes basically, but only a little bit. the images are set up in such a way that with a little trial and error you should eventually be able to "lock" your vision into a new perspective. yeah I know that sounds abstract as fuck, but basically try to overlap two identical pieces of the texture and get that image to stay put. once you manage that, just gently relax your eyes and try to bring the image back into focus, it takes some trying but you'll get it eventually, and your eyes will adjust as if you're just looking at something normally.
and there you have it, your dick will explode from the badass 3D pics you can now see. you're welcome

I tried making something a little different, somewhat creepier.
I'll post what happened with this in a reply, but first I'll explain some issues
A lot of the problems with these lay in my own human limitation.
Not only does hand "painting" them offer the hurdle of my own inaccuracies and imperfections, but many of these pieces of software are limited to 256 colors, and when I'm making them by eye, I just can't do it with that limitation.
how the most iconic and good looking depthmapped images are made are with 3D modeling software, and algorithmic converters for 256 color bitmaps.

Actually if you make a tube with your hands and breathe thru it as you move your face slowly up to the screen and then back a couple of times in a row it creates a mild hyper-ventilation effect and makes the image pop into view.

Opened tomb? Floating off the page? The more I look at magic eyes, I feel as if I'm seeing a negative depth effect. Every magic eye I've seen looked like a sunk image, not like it's coming out of the page. Those "floating" words look like a layer deeper than the whole page. That tomb looks like a flap of paper sticking out. Faces always look weird, because mouth holes protrude from the sunken imprint.
Everything is sunken, nothing protrudes. Help.

You have to change the focal point of your stereoscopic vision to bring the "hidden images into "3-D". The images look hidden under normal inspection because the complicated patterns camouflage the 2 parts of the image to be brought together.
You can exercise the eye muscle control used to scan for the correct focal depth of any given image by holding both index fingertips horizontally right in front of your eyes about an inch apart while you stare relaxedly at something about 2 feet away. You should see the tips of your fingers come together and form the illusion of a floating finger in-between them. Then slowly pull your hand away from your face and try to keep the illusion of the floating finger from a further distance. That's how you scan and lock onto these things.
If your eyes aren't lined up horizontally with the horizontal plane of the image it won't work. If the image is excessively large or you are too close to the image, it is very hard to do.
