Currently free for the next hour or so to discuss anything about spirituality, metaphysics, philosophy, mainly Greek(anyone know about eastern philosophy? or point me to someone beside Alan Watts?), spirituality[sic], reality....you get the idea.
Doubt the thread will last more than a few hours so just jump in. I prefer to strip away metaphor and allegory, superstition and myth. For example, if it breaks the laws of currently understood physics it must be disregarded, sorry Leviathan lovers.
How many licks does it take till you get to the center of the

Whoops, a bit trigger happy there. Time's always ticking, regardless how abstract it seems.
Anyway, I'll start; plain old question I really want to ask is:
Who really believes in all this paranormal shit?
>>17706695
op here, made me chuckle
>>17706687
What do you want to know anon?
>>17706697
What do you mean by paranormal shit?

Know anything regarding eastern philosophies? meditative experiences?

If our vision of reality is a construct created by impulses through the optical nerves, then our objective view of reality is nothing but a fabricated image created by our mind, the best representation; even that isn't always agreed upon (blue and black or white and gold).
By contrast, our creative thoughts and imagination occur in the mind at the same time, apart from dreaming.
How do we really know it's not the two separate constructs colliding? So we can't tell the difference between what we saw, and what we think we saw.

Excellent input, I'll be gone in 25 mins, but thanks for joining in.
>>17706788
If you truly understood, which you may, then you wwould know you're just talking to yourself, in a way.
What else is there to say, other than life is strange
>>17706822
Thanks anon, funny enough that's exactly what I wanted to hear before I left.
Godspeed anons.
What qualifies you to tell anyone anything?
>>17706855
No problem anon. Come back anytime
>>17706862
What qualifies you to live?
>>17706878
The same thing that gives you that right.
>>17706881
Then you see why your question is stupid.
>>17706894
The point is that the whole thread is stupid.
>>17706901
Exactly why I don't make AMA threads.
>>17706909
>AMA thread on /x/
Of course it's going to be bullshit. Even the real things that get posted here are bullshit.
>>17706900
The point of existence is stupid
I feel this thread has been very successful
This thread is now skeletons.
>>17706924
Actually I take this back, we made a really nice pesto pasta last night.
I got left overs for lunch, perhaps the point is pesto pasta

I think Op was trying to make a general discussion thread, he was the one asking the questions you tool.>>17706697
And Op, no, reality is subjective and in a sense your very definition on normal and paranormal may be skewed. I wouldn't recommend too much delving into eastern philosophy as it basically just asserts reality is an illusion by which we are released from by the realisation that we ourselves have chosen to be here.
All of reality is the Godhead, learn to love all and yourself and you will be released. Though that's far harder than it seems.
>>17706966
What's wrong with that philosophy, that everyone is the godhead, I think it's fucking hilarious and true.
>>17706966
Hates just another form of love.
>>17706983
>>17706983
Absolutely nothing, I just wanted to state that eastern philosophy centers upon that idea, and that it's extensive and culturally relevant, but unnecessary to that realisation.
>>17707004
Is that what your parents told you?
Well, I love you anon.
>>17706965
perhaps you're on the right track..
>>17706687
>if it breaks the laws of currently understood physics it must be disregarded
So there goes spirituality, metaphysics, and anything the Greeks said besides geometry. That also wipes away just about everything from philosophy other than empirical materialism.
What exactly did you want to talk about?
>>17706788
>How do we really know it's not the two separate constructs colliding?
Physics as we currently understand them say there is an objective external world which individuals can effectively communicate about.
THAT is how we know the difference between real and imagined.
Real glad you put that "discard if not in line with Physics" bit. All the navel-gazing shit of /x/ wipes away pretty quick with that.
