He was able to create and utilize wireless energy transfer technology which is something that we've not been able to recreate. How about harnessing power directly from solar (cosmic) rays?

Let's not forget tunguska either. That was tesla.

Wireless doesn't mean you place your phone on the charger and it charges (is that how it works? I have no idea. I only looked at your picture). I mean true wireless; a large distance between the supply and the powered object in question.

Tesla was way past that. He was doing experiments where he was powering lightbulbs from separate buildings and shit at the turn of the century.

God damn I remember when /x/ was actually helpful even if the op is shit. Tesla was an inventor who never married nor had children, he worked prrimarily with electricity and his greatest supposed inventions were induction charging/transmitting energy through the air and pulling static energy from the air for a free energy effect. The government supposedly stole and destroyed his plans for such devices so they could keep their hold on oil and other natural resources as power sources. Many believe he was a freemason but I'm gonna be honest and say I know jack shit about that aspect of his life. Lots of people on the internet hype him up to br this sort of electricity god or something but he was just a really smart dude who liked trying insane things that actually worked. In the same vein as his free power from air discovery he also created large turbines at niagara falls that were meant to harness the rushing water of the falls for a renewable source of power from natural phenomenon. He did try to create the wardenclyffe tower, which is a large tesla coil designed to transmit energy across great distances (it wad not a death ray although im sure close proximity to any source of airborn electricity would act as some sort of death ray), untill it was destroyed by the government and its plans were lost forever. Tesla did however have many inventions that made it to fruition such as the tesla coil, remote control vehicle technonlogy, the induction motor, and his discovery of the rotating magbetic field. He was definitely one of the smartest minds of his time but to say he was some kind of god or alien is blowing his achievements way out of proportion. Hope this helps you op, you might have to go searching but the information is there, be mindful of obvious conspiracys though.

>>
>>17705307
We have limited forms of wireless power today, but tesla created a way for mass amounts of power to be transmitted wirelessly through use of his tesla coils
>>
>>17705403
I'm sure the plans exist somewhere, if the big bad gov wanted his invention gone then they would want to know how it worked and how to build it
>>
>>17705391

Not quite the same as what you claimed. Impressive, but his idea never went further than powering lightbulbs over a short distance.
>>
>>17705403
The problem with those files is that people have become so convinced by the myth and legend of Tesla that if they released them now people would call bullshit because there are no plans for death rays or other sci-fi devices.
They are so sure that all the stories about Tesla are true that they would instantly assume the government is hiding the files.

Nikola Tesla was an engineer with no fundamental understanding of science, who squeaked through life as an inventor of early electrical apparatus.

He was a pretty big cunt and prone to making claims the facts didn't support. He talked some shit about Einstein and other real scientists, so conspiracy theorists love him for it. He filed a bunch of patents for shit that didn't work, and sued other people because he claimed they stole his ideas, but he lost in court. He died a penniless virgin, so now he's sort of a folk hero for penniless virgins. They claim he invented a bunch of shit like death rays and earthquake machines and free energy devices and alternating current, but he didn't invent any of it.

Tesla did invent a simple oscillator that he could match to the resonant frequency of structures. It's actually simple math, he would treat the length or height of the structure as desired wavelength and run a simple calculation to determine the frequency of oscillations that would result in a standing wave condition for said wavelength.

He also did draw up plans for what he called a death ray, it was a machine that would spin up small steel balls to incredible speeds using EMF, the accelerated BBs would be fired out through a small hole in the sphere that housed the accelerated projectiles.

Both of these devices are pretty well known, Mythbusters even verified his "earthquake machine".

You are incredibly stupid, simple harmonic motion speaks for itself. Are you actually arguing that standing waves, constructive/destructive wave interference are not a thing? People, please don't listen to the shills/trolls in here, they will tell you tesla isn't responsible for alternating current.
>>
Tesla's greatest invention was the Tesla Coil

It was a device that could create a large voltage, but a small current, good for creating electrical sparks.

It was used in early radios up to the twenties, but was disappeared when superior devices came along.

Now it's only real use is in education and entertainment- it's for science displays for school children.

Makes you wonder about the scientists who invented baking soda volcanos and clocks that run on potatoes. No doubt the government and the lizard people silenced their genius too.
>>
>>17705964
Nikola Tesla did not invent simple harmonic motion. Nikola Tesla contributed nothing to the field of simple harmonic motion. Nikola Tesla patented no useful inventions applying concepts of simple harmonic motion.

Nikola Tesla worked with and promoted alternating current.

He did not invent alternating current.

Verified true facts:
He invented the brushless electric motor which in itself is significant
He ran at odds with Edison because Edison was a firm believer in DC current and went to great lengths (q.v. elephant killing) to smear AC
He has posthumously been awarded patents for radio communication technology
He built a huge tower that caused aurora effects and caused a nearby electric substation to catch fire

His wireless energy transmission was probably enormously inefficient and he mainly just ran out of money before he was able to refine it into anything useful. He did have all kinds of crazy ideas most of which never came to be anything useful but the government really did take all of his research and classify it although that sort of thing was pretty common at the time.

Furthermore, Tesla made the loony claim that he could destroy the Empire State Building with a small device and five points of air pressure, which is just plain bullshit.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla%27s_oscillator

As for scaling up the device and improving on it, there's no need. They already have wrecking balls, bulldozers, and explosive demolition. Like with his other inventions, somebody else already made better ones.

If an invention has no use and nobody uses it... it's garbage.
>>
>>17706202
Science proves that Einstein was right and Tesla was wrong.

>Einstein stole from the patent office

That's not how patents and science works. Patent offices are for inventions, where you can claim proprietorship and make money off of said inventions.

What Einstein did was science, not inventions, and he published them in scientific journals, without any claim for proprietorship, and it years after his work in a patent office.
>>
>>1770627
Oh okay. It was myth busted .hahaha. Move along, nothing to see here. Jeez. Fucking idiot
>>
>>17704959
there currently something to the tune of 160 some odd patents related to Tesla that are used in the automobile industry today-
oscilating earthquake machine (if you believe that)
free earth energy

many many more
>>
>>17706283
Einstein reverse engineered ideas stolen from the Swiss patent office; he was rewarded handsomely for it. That's how it works. Science proves what the establishment allows. Wake the fuck up and do some real research
>>
>>17706294
>reversed engineered ideas

Again, that's not how inventions and science works. There is nothing in the theory of relativity to reverse engineer. Futhermore, the patent office isn't the place to go if you've developed the theory of relativity. It's not something that gets patented. If Einstein HAD stolen the idea of relativity, all that the "victim" would have needed to do is show people his own papers.

If there had been such a person who had worked out relativity before Einstein did, we definitely would have heard about it. The Nazis spent years trying to discredit the guy. And when they couldn't do that, they pretended his science wasn't any good. A bit like you're trying to do now.

And rewarded handsomely? Einstein was given a nobel prize for his work in the photoelectric effect, other than that he lived on his modest salary as a professor.

Apparently he thought his turbine was his finest invention. It is a marvel of engineering for its simplicity and efficiency.

But if you believe Al Bielek then he worked on the Philadelphia experiment with Einstein and Von Neumann who together came up with a unified field theory (which the USAF owns/ has not shared with the public). The technology the US/ potentially world military has is total sci-fi future shit but its unbelievably expensive, US involvement in war since WW2 has been to justify military spending and fund massive black projects. Maybe.
>>
>>17706440
Why would somebody who didn't understand physics and indeed criticize Einstein for doing physics then work with Einstein on a secret physics project?
>>
>>17706440
Tesla believed a lot of things, and he was wrong about a lot of them. The tesla turbine was just another example, and it wasn't simpler or more efficient than existing turbines, and it had no practical uses.

Yes, his motors. But what this leaves out is that the induction motor had already been invented, and patented, before Nikola Tesla every introduced his, and the one that Tesla presented is just a variation.

Nikola Tesla never came up with the basic idea of an induction motor. Nikola Tesla just copied it and made changes too it. Nikola Tesla was one of the "rivals" to the original inventor. And he wasn't even a very good one.

There's no battery.

The power comes from a difference potential between the ground and the antenna. The atmosphere has a difference potential in millions of volts (ever seen a lightning?) and with an antenna long enough you can tap into it.

The plus and minus signs are where the power comes out (measure it with a multimeter).

Ever hear of coffee shop conversations? You take in information, you let information go, and it is basically an exchange. Not everyone is walking around with a full report if they remember something from their past, and not everything is a legal entity like the government where the only thing that exists is on paper when we all know full good and well that paper gets altered or just plain left off it. He did the favor of bringing us info, an idea. We now have it in our minds, and so let US go look it up and remember it until we find the truth. I bet you ARE a shill. *shakes head* lol

pol and tumblr leave, this thread is about Tesla.

Tesla was a man, a modest man who knew the evils of corporations. He wanted nothing more than to reveal the evils of capitalism and give you and I free electricity. He did this in a few years, and before you knew it he was the man you see today. Fast forward decades. Tesla has become the Gold Standard for Anarchists and fedora tippers because he supposedly invented a "Death Ray" that could kill undesirables at a moment's notice. The trench-coat autists decided that this was a good ideology going forward, so they ran with it and attributed tons of things to Tesla. But alas, Tesla was a modest man, and only true fans of his can see this truth.

The end.

Most truly revolutionary discoveries have been completely pulled out of the ass and then confirmed later, if you study modern science you'll know this.

The thread is very shitty, but can you expect from a thread that starts with:

>redpill me on...

Tesla was brilliant charismatic and didn't give a fuck, mad scientiest disease is the best kind of disease, if you are good enough to be build a hundred things that would definetly work but instead you attempt to build outrageous things, that should never work, you make humanity dream big for centuries until your outrageous claims aren't so far fetched anymore.

The devotion that Edison had for discredit Tesla is admirable, and a case of study on itself, and given the amount of money and influence Edison had, Tesla got no chance of redeeming itself.

Also Edison financed the electric chair, he even electrocuted an elephant to prove the dangers of AC, and that's just nasty.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoKi4coyFw0

We developed our modern electric world after the footsteps of Edison and maybe we barked at the wrong tree.

Cool story bro
>>
>>17710130
No, that is where you connect a load to the circuit. It is NOT where you connect a battery.
>>
I think one of his greatest achievements was long distance wireless energy transfer.

He discovered that if you push the voltage and frequency of electricity really high, things that aren't normally conductive become conductive, like the air. Air becomes like a copper wire.

Realizing this, he made a transmitter with one "pole" shoved in the ground and another "pole" in the air. He then made a receiver that oscillated at a similar frequency and this receiver would receive electrical energy via the air and ground. What's fascinating here is that no wires connect these devices (the air and ground are your wires) AND this wireless technology is not limited by R squared losses - very high efficiencies could be obtained by tuning the system properly.
>>
>>17710838
>AND this wireless technology is not limited by R squared losses

No, in fact energy is lost at the sixth power to of the radius, not squared. It's incredibly inefficient.

>>17710705
Where's the voltage coming from?
>>
>>17710884
Holy fuck....

>>
>>17710901
Air isn't a voltage, anon. You can't use it to power a load. You can get struck by fucking lightning but that's not the same thing. This diagram is for a lightning rod with some diodes and capacitors in it.
>>
>>17710910

The purpose of the antenna and ground is to capture radiant electrostatic energy. The site the circuit diagram came from has some interesting experiments. Whether they end up having real world applications or not remains to be seen, but they're interesting never the less.
>>
>>17705384

For people who care about science and engineering.

Tesla has become a meme and blown out of proportion. His legacy is obscured by myths and legends, because everyone is suddenly his biggest fan after seeing an infographic about all the stuff he did, despite him not doing half of it.

His achievements are basically being made so outrageous that people will start to think it's all bullshit and he was nothing but a crazy man who got lucky a few times.

Air is an insulator. It has a dielectric constant. A dielectric is an important part in a capacitor.

Capacitors charge up and store electric energy.

Basically the atmosphere works as a capacitor. Its charged up and the discharges result in lightnings
when the breakdown voltage is reached. You can tap into a bit of its charge with a collector circuit.

Too bad most scientists are too narrow minded to even think about the possibility of this,
otherwise I might have posted it on /sci/.

>>17710946
There are a lot of different circuits that can do this,
the circuit in this post
>>17709734
might not be from that laserhacker site but it uses a similar circuit.
