Well, I feel like you should first spend some time working with the energies associated with each individual rune first.

Rune magic has two main components:
the written rune magic, and oral rune magic.
Written rune magic, from here out, will be referred to simply as "rune magic."
Spoken rune magic will be referred to as "galdr" (also known as "singing the runes.)
So, a very basic, typical rune magic working would go as follows:

>Find a rune of healing using one of the established rune schools (imo Elder Futhark is the best)
>After researching, realize the appropriate rune is Berkano
>Then draw Berkano on a piece of wood or stone
>while carving it out, chant the name "BER-KAN-OH" repeatedly while meditating on the purpose of the rune, this inscribes it with meaning (this is the galdr)

>repeat the galdr until you feel the rune is ready

Memorize all the runes name, meanings, and dicinatory attributes. You will come across the shapes frequently (synchronicities) which will give you insight into your current path.

Just make a bindrune of the three and leave it under her bed. Then hug her deeply next time you see her. All else will work out quickly.
Naudhiz is the principle of "need" in the great cosmology of things. Historically it is one of the most-used runes in love spells.

The thread I linked has a lot of resources, and several posters provide their opinions on a few of them.
My suggestion is to read "Taking up the Runes" by Paxson as an introduction, but don't take it too seriously and don't do the exercises. The point of reading that is to familiarize yourself with runic scholarship and different interpretations. Once you've read that, read Thorsson; he's the best, I'm my opinion.

Well runes are for casting spells while sigil modify your spirit shield for a one time price of 1.5mil. Sigils are dropped by Corp with a 1 in 4095 drop rate. If you're only on chaos I suggest going out behind lumby castle with some iron armor and splash on rats til you're on blood's or at least deaths.

Total scrub here who hasn't done his research here but I've heard that Thorsson's rune magick system is influenced by kabbalah (rune tree) which wouldn't be correct for a purist but might work anyway.
His connection to the temple of Set might put off some people as well as his Personal Inspired Gnosis writings on the Seiðr.
It seems their are slim pickings when it comes to traditional rune magick.

There is literally NO FUCKING SOURCES besides the Rune Poems on how you would properly use runes, other than runes were carved into items to give them "power" such as the Tyr rune for example. Runes would be carved into Niðstangs as well to magically shame an individual. Beyond these mentions with no actual specifics we have no information or surviving record.

Thorsson invented a lot of what he wrote on the subject-- and while it is a working system, it's not what the ancients would've practiced. I've had much more success from runes when combining them with ancestor reverence and prayers to the wights.

Someone has proof, stories of rune magic's impact ? I've read the whole thread and I'm sceptical. None of this looks true. If it was possible, it would be common sense ? If it was so easy, then every problem would be out of the way.

I wouldn't think the effects would be so overt, like I doubt there'll be a straight-up rune that produces fire every time you say the name or something. More likely to be anecdotes about lucky opportunities or dodged bullets.
It'd be more... stacking the deck, so to speak. Skewing the world a little more in your favour, belief being used as a means, and the runic structure being used as a directioning and conceptual framework. Same principle as essentially every other non-overt influencing phenomena - sacrifices to entities for protection, defensive wards and spells, good luck charms, etc.

Auden's translation makes much more sense than others claiming that somehow it's preferable to make no offerings because then you're owed one. HUH?! People just blindly repeat what they've read without considering what it might mean.
The passage is actually saying that you're better off offering nothing at all rather than trying to coerce the gods with sacrifices. It's not claiming that you should make sacrifices because then you'll be owed a favor. It is, in fact, an explicit warning to avoid doing that.

It's simply a warning, as a gift does beget a curse. Basically, it's the law of give-and-take. Anytime you receive something, expect to lose something else.
It's similar in wording to the "Judge not, lest ye be judge" in Chrisitan dogma. It's not telling the reader to not judge; but to simply be aware that one is judged by the same standards they hold others to.

"ó" is a negating prefix. "Beðit" is the past-participle of "biðja," which means to ask or request.
"Sé" is subjunctive, essentially translated to "may be."
What the first two lines essentially say is "better [something] remain unrequested than [for that thing] be sacrificed excessively."
The last line says "a gift sees ever to a payment," highlighting that a gift requires a counter-gift.
In Old Norse society, giving a gift was a way to establish friendship, but friendships were maintained by giving gifts back and forth. Anyone who received a lot but didn't give enough was considered shameful. If you give to the gods in excess (ie, more than is reasonable for them to give to you), you are shaming them.
So the stanza says that it's better not to ask for something than to offer so much in exchange that you shame the god for giving it to you.
