A film about Malachi Martin's "Hostage to the Devil" is set to be released on Halloween of 2016.
"Hostage to the Devil" is a truly scary book about some exorcisms Martin was involved in. Martin was the person the priest character in "The Exorcist" film was based on. (However the film "The Exorcist" is about an exorcism he had nothing to do with, go figure, Hollywood!) Martin later retired form the priesthood, move to NYC, got a gf, and then fell down some steps and died.
The "Hostage to the Devil" looks to be in a documentary format.

Malachi Martin also wrote the novel "Windswept House". It deals with evil in the higher ranks of Catholicism. Martin implied he had to write it as fiction for legal reasons. The book's main event details an interesting way to conduct a Black Mass in an area as heavily 'protected' as inside the Vatican itself.
Martin also blatantly states the American branch and Vatican itself are the most corrupt components of The Church -- think sex scandals and money laundering, all on top of plain ol' Satanism. However Martin was very convinced The Church was about to break up into continent-sized based units, but that was over a decade ago and doesn't seem anymore likely now than then. Still a good spooky read if you aren't put off by all the Catholicism.

Hostage to the Devil is pretty scary reading but Martin, who used the title "Father" and misrepresented himself as an active priest when he was no longer a priest, was a bit of a bullshit artiste.
For one thing, Vatican insiders don't go around calling themselves insiders, and for another, he found a gullible audience in Art Bell who spread his story around, magnifying it and him all out of proportion.
But, those interviews were fun even though they were bullshit, the same as other Art Bell finds, like Ed Dames. .
