I was -born- on a goddamn Friday the 13th. I worked for years in a bookstore that had rolling ladders attached to the walls, with the consequence that I was walking under ladders all the time, day in and day out. I also, at one point in my life, had no less than three black cats. For good measure, I have also broken a mirror. Yet, mysteriously, I'm still here, I'm still in excellent health, and I've had some very good fortune in my life.

The only weird Friday the 13th experience I ever had was years ago when I was attending university. I stopped by the local corner store for a pack of smokes and down the alley way I saw someone passed out on the floor. I got closer to see he was ok (he was just your average junkie); and a black cat jumped between us looked at me, looked at him and slowly strutted away. Not too paranormal, but it kind of gave me the heebie jeebies.
