Is there any validity to necromancy and the acquiring of souls to do ones bidding? I'm not into the sort of thing but I've fed off of another persons spiritual energy a few times and now I'm concerned about the state of my karmic debt

I remember in the 90's or early 2000's, I found a website about how to do necromancy. It often involved killing dogs or other animals, and obtaining a pound of their flesh. This involved contacting spirits and getting answers from them. I was looking into it because of the necromance in Diablo 2.
