In Christianity, and most Dualistic religions? No.

In many forms of Paganism or Tribal religions? Maybe.

In my religion you can destroy their ties to Earth, or kill them in their 'realm' ( If you're badass enough). It totally depends on who/what you fight. For example...Fae ( who can be good or bad) can usually be killed. But more...Ethereal stuff like say, "The Hunt" ( which is more like a force of nature rather than an entity) cannot be hurt.

In Norse Mythology, if you can hit it, you can probably kill it. ( i.e. if it takes physical form, go Viking on it.)

Then in many Native 'Merican myths it depends as well. Physical bodies usually have a prescribed method for killing it. And more Ghost-y things usually have methods used to banish, but not kill them.

But if you're a Christfag...sorry. only Baby Jesus can kill them.

Men are made from earth yet can still die by earth elements. Demon or devil should be able to die from it's respective element too.
