I'm the one who sells life insurance. I get roughly 50% of the annual premium + residuals. Bonuses too, obviously.
>>

really? seems like a much better deal. how many clients do you have? are premiums negotiable? i have life insurance and that kind of sucks that half of my premium is going to some jerk off salesman, no offense.
>>
>>17672611
It's pretty hard work, though. I actually work 50 to 60 hours per week. Most of my job is legwork trying to find potential clients.

>are premiums negotiable?
Only in the sense that you can choose different amounts and types of coverage. The prices are generated by actuarial data, so there are set prices, no haggling.

>half of my premium is going to some jerk off salesman
Only the first year. We get residuals for business that stays on the books, but the insurance company does keep most of the money.

I drive a forklift in a freezer on the night shift.

Production makes the food, boxes it, wraps it, puts it on pallets, puts it in a room where I take it into the freezer and put it up to be loaded onto a trailer later and shipped out.

It's literally so cold I have to wear a suit rated for -40 degrees fahrenheit, my boots are rated for -20 but after three hours my feet are frozen to the insoles.

I don't make shit to live on and I want to die.

You'd need to get a work visa, which normally requires you to have an employer in the US wanting you. That's not easy to arrange unless you have a degree in an in-demand field. If your English is fluent (as presumably your Swedish is), that would be your selling point. Apply to businesses that need bilinguals.

Housing is no problem unless you're picky. Nice places usually won't lease for less than a year. You'd be renting a furnished room by the month. Those are rarely nicer than tolerable.

I'm a male receptionist/administrative assistant.

the most /x/ thing about the job though is that the company is a carpet cleaning/restoration company and we sometimes do trauma cleanups. Its weird to price those because its kind of like the cost of dying?

Also when our technicians come back from those jobs we have boxes of bloody stuff in the warehouse. One time it was a whole blood soaked couch.
>>
My job is actually kinda /x/ related actually. I work as a nurses assistant at a psychiatric hospital. It's been open since 1908 and is one of the top 20 most haunted places in Texas according to the paranormal society. Google north Texas state hospital, that's the place.sinks come on by themselves sometimes in my building. But there's way spoopier buildings than the one I work.

In my area most people with work visas are on some farm or casino. If that's what you want to do then go for it. You'll make minimum wage and sometimes they provide low income community housing. It's not glorious but you'll be in the usa. Can't say what other states are like

Currently:
I am a janitor at a large fitness facility, I dont like it but it pays.
I also intern at a free legal resource center.
I am finishing an undergrad degree, before going to law school.

I regularly train in heavy strength training. I used to be a halfway decent powerlifter though i havent competed in two years.

I really enjoy the freedom. Call volume usually drops a few hours after midnight- though not always.

Nighttime you don't have to fight traffic, and you know a large percentage of people you deal with are shitheads/crazies. You don't have to wear as many "masks" when you try and be friendly with people.

Plus, it's the best time to hunt for trouble.

Here's what I did and have seen work for others:
>prepare a few easy-to-read, non-academic writing samples
>join a freelancing site (preferably one that takes less than a 20% cut of your earnings)
>complete your profile, including uploading your samples
>bid on lots of writing gigs
>when you win a writing gig, either do a great job or cancel the project (on most sites: half-assing = bad feedback; cancelling = no feedback)
>accumulate good feedback and published work
>use feedback and publications to help you as you bid on projects you see on job sites, pitch stories directly to publications, and work independently
>gradually reduce your dependence on the freelancing site as you learn to accumulate clients on your own

The end goal is to work with clients totally independently, with no one taking a cut from you. You'll find that clients are a huge pain in the ass, however, and may eventually lead you to the point where you no longer enjoy writing at all.

Become a programmer. Some NEET's on /g/ may say .NET is garbage but that is because they work on free garbage for people who don't pay well.

Fullstack programmers well versed in Microsoft IDE's and technologies can make some decent money and the work isn't as bad as enterprise admin.

I did enterprise admin, you honestly feel like an expensive insurance policy and not a real human after awhile. Although making out with the cute young chicks who intern is nice...

mostly car accidents which can get gory and the occasional creepy crime, but the nice thing about being a highway cop is I mostly just drive around all day, maybe a few traffic stops or going to a house call but its pretty peaceful

I drive forklift in a normal warehouse. I make about 25 grand, but working night shift has killed my social life and isolated me from my friends, family, and gf. It's very difficult to change shifts and I've become kind of an alcoholic. I can't remember the last time I've spent time in the sun.
>>
>>17677462
Oh and /x/ related story. A couple months ago two weekend security guys crashed their buggies when they were the only ones in the warehouse and claimed it was because ghosts were throwing books at them. Think they were both probably just high
>>
>>17677462
That is a sad state of affairs OP. I don't know your circumstances but if you're on decent terms with HR or your boss, speak to them about how you're a good worker and put in the hours but it's having a real impact on your home life. Ask to be given a day shift. In all likelihood they'll say they'll move you when it's convenient. If you think you can, maybe ask for a promotion.

If all else fails, tell HR it's taking a toll on your mental health. They're bound to acquiesce at that point, lest there be repercussions. Good luck with it though, I hope it gets sorted.

How much do you made? How often do you work?
Any weird stuff?

I actually work at a rare book store. Everything gets entered into an online database and solid that way. I mostly have been doing some old diaries, scrapbooks, and posters. I've been keeping my eye out for anything weird or spooky but sadly haven't found anything yet.

depends on the client, all money is negotiated, usually a few hundred a date. I never go over a 1000 just so I don't get a bad reputation

a few every couple weeks, sometimes it can get a bit thin but theres always lonely people

some, but not a lot. Mainly its just taking women out on dates. some are too nervous to fuck and just want the company. Others can be a bit weird. Last Halloween some chubby Asian self proclaimed wiccan took me to a corn maze because she just wanted a date. Then I had some 50 year old housewife want me to poor candle wax all over her and berate her
