The Russians got to the moon first and set up missiles to fire on the US and they covered it up with a hologram. When they saw the moon landing on TV, they knew it was a fake because the Americans would have found their weapons

That's why they gave up the cold war

They gave up because they wanted the upper hand. Now hey can freely colonize the moon. The US doesn't even have a manned program anymore

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractional_Orbital_Bombardment_System

There was a time when the Soviets kept nuclear missiles in orbit 24/7, ready to de-orbit and attack the USA at any time. But it only lasted two years because of cost overruns.

>They gave up because they wanted the upper hand.
They gave up because they couldn't get there before the USA did.

>Now they can freely colonize the moon.
No they can't. Or they would.

>The US doesn't even have a manned program anymore.
The USA has the only manned program. Ever heard of the ISS? That's a NASA thing.

>stories?

“Daddy, I had a bad dream.”

You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Kremlin’s clock glows red in the darkness and it’s 3:23. “Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?”

“No, Daddy.”

The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter’s pale form in the darkness of your room. “Why not sweetie?”

“Because in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy’s skin sat up.”

For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can’t take your eyes off of your daughter. The covers behind you begin to shift. “I am sergeant Voronin, please present your documents”.

there's the movie Stalker, not hard to find free. i think it's on youtube even.

there's the "russian sleep experiments" creepypasta where they give the guys some drug / gas that keeps them awake and they all go insane / get possessed by sleep demons and eat each other or whatever.

there's an innawoods story screencap of a dude who claimed to have visited that pass (Dylatov or something like that?) where people went nuts during a blizzard and ran outside naked to freeze to death and possibly were eaten by cryptids or got possessed or whatever. i think in his story he arms up /k/ style and hunts some cryptid.

there's got to be some creepypasta about chernobyl, but i can't think of any.

russian folklore would be the source of stories like the Baba Yaga and her chicken-foot house, Koschei the Deathless, and the original shaman guys in Siberia.

also the legend of Rasputin is pretty hardcore.

Comrade bump

This shit is interesting as fuck. Don't really have much to add - apart from the dog/reanimation/robot experiments - but hopefully other anons can flesh this thread out

This is a really interesting read.

In the greatest act of subterfuge in history, the USSR won the cold war.
Not that unbelievable when you think about it. Soviet union falls, entire bastion of western civilization descends rapidly into hardcorr socialism, exceeding the USSR in some lengths given the Russians claimed they never fully implemented communism.

The west becomes more left wing than the eastern block ever could be, any country today can now become communist without penalty, and we say the US won the cold war?

Well duh, only hardcore americans would think that they won the cold war.

It was a war for freedom and american ideals and in the lenght of the war, america betrayed everything they believed, in favor of a more organized country that could rival the big state of the communist regime.

American state, and centralized economy is the envy of any communist state.

You are all living Marx's deam.

You are home to watch Pravda on televisir about degenerate murderer who is on the loose. You look out the window door to beet field, and you notice Man standing in the snow. He look like foto on televisir and he smile at you. You gulp vodka, picking up fone to your right and dialing Local Militia Precinct Commissar. Back out the glass you look, pressing fone to ear. Notice he now closer to you. You drink more vodka in shock.

No footprints in snow. It was reflection. You dullard!

Your apartment is bulldozed down to make way for glorious tractor factory.

How about the extremely remote prisons that are hundreds of miles from any other civilisation? There's a pretty cool documentary on them. The prisoners spend a lot of time in their cells, where there is nothing but a bed, and they are not allowed to sit or lay down on it until their bedtime is announced.

I'm from Finland, my late grandfather knew a guy who after ww2 was really into communism and went to USSR

he got sent into a gulag in deep siberia and one winter in the 50's he escaped and walked the whole way back by foot and evaded all people the whole way until the finnish border because of the risk of being sent back or shot

didn't like communism and after that, became an alcoholic and killed himself in the 70's

google maps says 614 hours nonstop walking but it was probably way longer because he went offroad and even farther north without a map
>>
not a conspiracy but siberia has these ancient mega-viruses frozen that could still infect things

My grandma was deported to Siberia.
The soldiers came to their house during the night. They ordered the whole family to get out of the house and line up. Grandma said that they were a 100% sure the soldiers would just shoot them all on the spot. Damn, that must've been an un-fucking-real feeling. Anyways, then they got told to get some food, clothes, etc. from the house and then they got deported.
Pretty cool huh. Now my grandma has a bigger pension because of all that.

From the 50s and even today, this model of car is feared by some since it reminds them of the Soviet days but for a very different reason. They used to pick up people off the streets and they were never seen again. Parents often used them as a punishment method, by saying that if their kids misbehaved, one of these would come for them and take them away.

Apparently people in former Soviet countries like Ukraine and Belarus still instinctively hide if they see one since they either were taught to when they were young or their older people who remember the Soviet days.

They're also quite rare too, they were never sold to the public and were exclusively used by Soviet officials. So seeing one is itself rare.

Not the guy, but:

Mother and father get little tired from building Communism, so they want to go to Moscow to buy vodka. They call most trusted babysitter. When babysitter arrives, children already sleep in beds. Babysitter just sits around and make sure everything good with children. Later that night, babysitter gets bored and goes to read Marx, but she can’t read downstairs because there’s no electricity (parents dodn’t want children reading Marx all night long). So, she calls parents and asks if she can get candles to read Marx in their room. Of course, the parents say it okay, but babysitter has one final request. She ask if she could cover up Lenin statue outside the bedroom window with blanket or cloth, because it makes her nervous. Phone line is silent for moment, and father who say, "Take children and get out of house. We will call milita. We do not have Lenin statue." Militia find all three of house occupants dead because KGB kill them for trying to cover Lenin statue. Then militia arrest parents for not having Lenin statue. Such is life in Moscow.
