To all urban explorers here, please take this as a reminder to always watch your step when moving through abandoned or derelict buildings. As someone who's personally conscious of what exactly killed this dude, I can say that it could have easily been avoided if he'd simply watched where he was walking, and been aware of what was under his feet.

Don't use a crowbar. There's almost always a way in, and if not, it'll open up eventually. Having tools/weapons, especially if you use them, makes things a whole lot worse if you get caught.

The second one. At most sites, there will already be a few holes you can slip through. If not, someone will eventually break in. Let them take the risk.
Never go after drinking, never go alone. Alcohol thins your blood making you bleed easier and more, dulls pain which makes you think that your injury isn't as bad as it is, makes your reaction time and coordination much weaker, all the while making you feel like you are invincible, certainly at least you think you are better , faster, stronger than normal.

Yeah someone died year a couple years ago by falling from the second floor inside an abandoned building. It was crazy because he was missing for a couple weeks before he was found, and the abandoned building is in the middle of downtown right in between a bar and an office building. He was drunk and on coke when he decided it would be a good idea to go 'splorin the abandonded building after he walked out outside the bar next door after a night of partying.
