This, OP. Nothing else. My feet get rough like your hands do but only between the toes at the base of each toe does it start to peel and show the more sensitive redness.
What kind of gloves do you wear often? I used to run a lot and use the same socks for like three days.
Or how much different is it where you live now than where your dad lived at a young age? My dad lived right by the beach in a very moisture filled environment. I grew up in a city not too far from the beach but that also happened to be built over a swamp.
If it helps, my feet get better after a few weeks of changing socks every day, cleaning and scrubbing feet every day, not picking at feet. After that it usually takes me picking at them for like a day to get them to start peeling again. I think something in my blood activates the fungus.
These feet are why I am so insecure. Who could love feet like mine? :(
Oh yeah, and another thing. I have actually met and known many people that have your same hand condition. They're not peeling quite the way yours do but still just as calloused/rough. They get laid to this day. They are musicians, though. Two of the more recent ones handle hot objects like blow torches quite often. We took dabs.

Playing till my fingers bleed merely involves warmup. Though adds a new and poetic level i guess. I could intentinally split the lines at a emotinal point and bleed on the violin. If I stretch my toes my feet will crack but I don't bleed like you make it sound you do.
What I found helps with that is Eucalyptus soap and letting my feet dry without socks for about an hour. After that I wear soft socks and my comfiest shoes so that my feet don't crack from the cement. If I can feel a sharpness when putting on the socks, I don't wear that pair. If the shoes are too thin at the sole, I don't wear them. Only soft and comfy.

It's possible it's not fungus actually. I've worked out that I have some form of genetic disease and if I don't maintain myself properly it can look like exactly OPs pictures on my really bad days. I was discharged from military because of this as well.
Stress is one of the main factors to make it come out and for the past few years it has been a very reliable sign to show how my overall mental and/or physical well-being is. When I start meditating and creating a more relaxed atmosphere while eating properly the symptoms recede quickly while sunlight and medical treatment only relieves it for some period of time.

Sounds like you got athlete's foot. It's a fungal infection usually happens when you get sweaty feet a lot and don't let your feet ventilate properly. It's contagious so you can get it from communal spaces. It's curable don't worry. Very common.
