should be lower down the iceberg. No over the top gore or try hard edginess like most of these films. Just a very pointless, Italian flick that features softcore porn involving minors.

Its a different kind of disturbing that just leaves you feeling uncomfortable the whole way through and i dont understand who the fuck came up with this. I think it was based on a book but still... Why...

Also its not a good movie so if you haven't, dont waste your time watching it.

have to agree. It was basically unwatchable. I know the director said that the more disturbing scenes were included as metaphors for what happened to Serbia in the 90's but it's just trash and very poorly conceived.

At least with Salom you get a feeling of dread from watching it, a dread that absolute power and tyranny is meant to cause in those that suffer from it.

I was pretty disturbed by the newborn porn scene just because my niece had been born a few months before I saw the movie so I couldn't stop thinking about her and I still don't like movies when babies or young children are killed. Other than that it was pretty funny, worth watching imo. Poughkeepsie Tapes is stupid, one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. I've never watched it and don't plan to but apparently August Underground is about as bad as it gets. I don't really go for edgy movies anymore, I mostly look for mockumentaries about grassman/cryptids.

Jaded Outcast film schooler reporting in. Wonder why Serbian Film isn't on the list, it's at 'that weird guy' level.

I hope you guys don't fall into the 'horror movies suck if they don't scare me' crowd. The Shining is one of the best horror movies ever and I don't know a single person that gets scared by that. It's still a fascinating film, though, and that's what matters. Rarely do you see a film that balances quality filmmaking and real scares. I hope to make one, one day.
>>
>>17630435
The symbolism in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is maddening. Absolutely brilliant. A spectacular film for a spectacular book. I'm just glad he had the balls to screw King over to get his way.
>>

Pink Flamingos is disgusting, but it's barely level 3.
>>
>>17616742
Where the hell is Army Dog? That film is honestly traumatizing.
>>
>>17630497

I feel that the film and the book are entirely different entities, and Kubrick really made the story his own in a way that few directors ever could. I still love the book, and it's certainly spookier than the movie, but I think that the film is objectively better.

I understand King's point, though. He lived through a lot of what he wrote, it was personal to him, and then Kubrick eliminated most of the emotional impact from the original story, in favour of intellectual elements. Neither of them is wrong, but I'd be pretty upset as well.

Read the thread, it's a documentary about trepanation, not that movie. Not really that much more /x/ than any other tribal practice, desu, not sure why it's on there. Also laughing my ass off at all these fools who have never read The Golden Compass or Homunculus and never heard of the practice before.

God damn these are almost all super casual. Look up video mix tapes and really amateur shit for the real shock. Fist Pig, Traces of Death (not Faces), Debris Documentar and all the art films by Viennese Actionists.

I saw a still from A Hole in the Head.

It's nowhere as scary as it sounds since the lady who did what she did to her head is alive and well today and interviews of her can be easily found online. The truly scary videos are the ones where you know the person is truly dead.
>>
Say what you want, Freaks and Videodrome are both superb

How does His Dark Materials relates to trepidation? Or am I confusing the golden compass with something else? Or did they used trepidation to remove the "daemon" from the humans and I never caught on to it?
>>
>>17634983
It's mentioned as a plot point a few times in the first book. Also it's trepanation. Will's father is implied to have undergone the operation, you should re-read the books, they're pretty great /x/ material, even if it is written for young adults.

The book was worse. It was written by a guy so fucked up he's literally where the word sadism and Sadist comes from. Marquis De Sade.

It was supposed to be his grand masterpiece, he wrote it while locked up in the Bastille of France as a prisoner.

He hid the manuscript because if someone found it he would've been executed for how fucked up it was. They moved De Sade out of the Bastille a few days before the Bastille was stormed kicking off the French revolution.

The manuscript was lost until it was found in De Sades' hiding place in the early 1900s.

It's unfinished, but the notes he had written about what else he was going to add to it were even more fucked up

You want to see a fucked up movie? Watch, "Boxing Helena". Don't google anything about it beforehand, it's better watching it without knowing anything about it.

Throw "The Hills Have Eyes" at level 2. It's not truly scary but I always end up looking away from the screen because of all the animal scenes and tension build-up.

>"If people get killed no one gives a crap, if I kill a cat and I cum on it everyone loses their mind"

Where did he even get that shit anyway? If he killed a person, people most certainly would've given a crap. If he killed a person, came on their corpse, and filmed it, he would've gone to prison for murder and, if he got out, would've become the pariah he deserves to be. He certainly wouldn't have just gotten off with a 1400 FIM (about $340) fine. His cries of "muh hypocracy ;_;" don't have a single leg to stand on.

What an utter piece of shit.
