Kinda related, but I feel like this type of thing can help explain dark matter. Dark Matter is the name scientists give to phenomena in space where stars, planets, and other heavenly bodies behave as if they're being affected by the gravitational pull of a large object relatively nearby, but there's no object there that's visible by any current means. Right?

My idea is that there IS an object at that point in space, but not in this universe. The gravitational forces are bleeding through from an object in another universe, and having an effect on shit floating around in our universe.

Or I may just be really fucking high.
>>
>>17608532
it sounds like a nice idea really. won't comment on the astrophysics of it, but it's a nice-sounding concept to be honest family.
>>
>>17608463
Have you read it yourself? That kinda shit is typical le braekthru clickbait information you find on facebook.

First off it starts by talking about "patch of hydrogens left by the bigbang"
Considering the very theory of the big bang is being re-discussed now that aint a good start.

This is all mere speculation, we hardly enough understans our own universe, let's not start chasing other ones. It's implications over implications jumping to conclusions.

Thanks anon. I'm just an armchair astrophysicist/quantum mechanics enthusiast.

I don't pretend to have any clue HOW or WHY gravity would slip through into our soap bubble, but it's the only way I can wrap my head around dark matter.

It's bullshit, anon. It's some Uni grad trying to get himself noticed.

He took a picture from the CMB, digitally removed most things, then claims the "patches" are other Universes bumping into ours.

I could say it's turtles bumping into our Universe and it would be equally valid.

White hole caused by black hole in a another universe pulling the universes together and emptying into ours? My theory anyways, seems like the best explanation if this is true.

WHAT THE FUCK IS A WHITE HOLE.
>>
>>17612061
Well what is it?
>>
>>17612082
>>17612061
It's pretty much what I described. They're entirely theoretical right now but it's meant to explain the loss of mass and energy that black holes seem to create. Basically if you think of all universes as parallel sheets, a black hole's gravity is so strong it can bring them adjacent universes closer until they touch, and the energy is spewed out into that universe because laws of thermodynamics and the energy wants to escape to somewhere significantly less influenced by the gravity of the black hole, that area being the white hole which is where the 2 universes collide.

>>
>>17608114
>in the beginning, god created the heavens and the earth

Nope. The earth wasn't created until some eight billion years later. Lots of shit happened before that. Separation of forces, baryogenesis, early nucleosynthesis, recombination, reionization, formation of the first stars, formation of the first galaxies, first and second generation becoming old enough to undergo supernovas, metal nucleosynthesis, formation of the Solar system using the remnants of said supernovae, etc.

The Bible gets shit wrong from the very opening line.

You've got yourself there a working hypothesis.

Now you need to come up with some working explanations as to why gravity would leak through from one universe to another, but not the other forces. You'd also need to explain why the matter in the other universe happens to be arranged in the way that it is, and corresponding to the mass in ours.
>>
>>17613957
The idea was put together by Lemaitre to explain evidence of red-shifting galaxies, and based on the work of Hubble, Einstein, and Lesitter, as an alternative to Steady State theory. It would be proven years later by a couple of Americans. It didn't have anything more to do with Catholicism than Mendel's peas. If anything, Theology would be more apt to prefer Steady State.

>They're entirely theoretical right now but it's meant to explain the loss of mass and energy that black holes seem to create
it's called Hawking radiation dumbass, virtual particles that get born near the event horizon, don't dissapear due to the particle antiparticle mutual annihilation, but instead one falls into the black hole while the other escapes it, this escape it's corelated to radiation and according to the law of energy conservation it means also mass, this is how a black holes eventually dies a death, if you want more look for leonard suskind books or lectures
>>
>>17614025
It predates the theory of hawking radiation or the concept of black holes losing mass and energy, and is a result of Einstein's field equations.
