It represents two opposing arrows converging into a common point. It may be vertical, horizontal, or else such, and it may be elaborated or simplified as desired.
The esoteric name for this symbol is 'The five fingered hand of Eris', commonly shortened to 'The Hand'.
In the lore of western magic, the (see image) is taken to symbolize horns, especially the horns of Satan or of diabolical beasties. The Five Fingered Hand of Eris, however, is not intended to be taken as satanic, for the "horns" are supported by another set, of inverted "horns". Or maybe it is walrus tusks. I don't know what it is, to tell the truth.

it's two parts of a circle divided by a line
The circle is connected to unity, completion, cycles. So it's like the reverse of that something that is not whole, not complete at the same time not confined, an open circle. I think the line gives more emphasis to the divison. Gives the feel of a really open symbol, open to the outside, but also of lack of completion or order, so in a way maybe chaos?
But in a way also balance in spite of a lack of totality, the straigh line seems to give it stability despite the opposed curves ( the circle that is not )

i didn't really feel like writing a disertation, but not really into the new age stuff. i can see how it came off like that though. Mer-ka-bah has been a concept longer than the love/light new age shit, it ties back to egyption symbolism. I see the letter M inside a cube / hexagon (indicating Saturn). Three M's to be precise. And in the background there's waves, read: frequencies, vibration, hologram.
