Russia is the world's leader in terms of abandoned villages and towns. God knows how many old military bases, mines, railways, tunnels, bunkers, camps, chemical labs etc. got completely lost for the humans and will never be found again. If you look at Wikimapia, you'll see that Russia is literally covered with traces of once powerful empires. Now only lonely cold and creepy stone ruins remind us of the past. Everyone has heard of Chernobyl, but there are lost cities in Russia which had been left almost as quick, in other words, evacuated. Just imagine how this town:

https://my.mail.ru/mail/rodinaanzhela/video/_myvideo/24.html

stands left alone in the eternal cold that no road leads to. They say a handful of people stayed there even after all communications in the town had been terminated. They burnt wood to heat the flats. Imagine how you would live alone in a an abandoned block of flats in the middle of nowhere without any signs of civilization hundreds of miles around you.

Unlike Europe, say, in Russia you travel almost everywhere without a risk of being charged for trespassing. You can still visit almost all those abandoned places if you're courageous enough and your equipment is reliable.

It's terrifying and at the same time fascinating to watch such a giant empire, as Soviet union, die...

I've looked into this a bunch, and I've come to a few conclusions. There are wild animals there. They are there because humans do not frequent the area. There are no/very few ghosts. I don't know why, but it does not seem to be a hotspot for paranormal activity, despite what many movies suggest. Kinda sucks, because it would make for great stories.
>>
>>17591343
>ghosts
Don't exist, dude
>>
>>17591351
I disagree. Not in the horror movie sense, though.
>>
>>17591364
>I disagree
I don't care whether you disagree or not. It doesn't change the fact.
>>
>>17591372
Right, I understand that you don't believe in ghosts. That's fine. That doesn't change that fact that there is a phenomenon that science has yet to accept, that lots and lots of people have experienced. Lots of it can be chalked up to mental illness and natural or environmental circumstances. That does not change the fact that many people have experienced something outside of that.
>>
>>17591379
With this development of photo and video capturing technology, evidence for ghosts should have been increased dramatically. Yet we see even less spooky videos because faking them gets more difficult than back then.
>>
>>17591387
I agree. Evidence of any ghostly activity is rare, and there are many hoaxers and people who want to believe, despite the fact that they're freaking out over air in the pipes. There are some standouts, though. When I'm more lucid I will provide what I believe to be genuine evidence, even though it's possible that I'm linking hoaxes. Even if I can't provide concrete evidence, there is no doubt in my mind that there is something going on that deals with human shaped shadows and apparitions that cannot be explained.
>>
>>17591302
What's the story behind this picture? Looks very interesting. Can't imagine they'd leave a space ship behind like that.
>>
>>17591265
You seem to be underestimating the mere size of wild Russia. Past even the thinnest outer layer of what constitutes the Russian wilderness and you're more separated from any kind of civilization or rescue support than you could imagine. Even alone in Desert Valley or lost in the depths of Appalachia, you'd be more likely to be found than if you were just a spare mile deeper into the outer Russian wastes.
>>
>>17591432
This is a blessing, when the time comes, the people who flee there will be the only ones safe.

Cute how new you are. Cheeky censoring of obnoxious buzzwords is not unprecedented on 4chan. In fact, you're probably not aware that the word "weeaboo" became popularized through this very method. Moot was sick of people saying "wapanese" so he censored it and made it "weeaboo."

When you don't clean things.. walls, doors, windows, carpets etc, after a long time they tend to fall apart. The moisture/damp in those places will cause the surfaces to rot and mould.

People probably scavenged for a while. I doubt everyone left at the same time. Those left behind would have looted the buildings for metals, furnishings etc Then you have homeless crews drifting through, rats, birds, insects... and so on

If those walls could talk..

That depends entirely where you go. Somewhere like a factory could have hazardous material left behind, old buildings could have asbestos, caves and other underground areas could have a build-up of radioactive/toxic gas.

So protecting your breathing with a respirator and having 2 gas detectors would be a basic necessity.

Protect your skin from cuts and tetanus with some good gloves, preferably Kevlar lined ones for added protection with a disposable one on top of that.

Multiple people at all times with radio equipment and multiple people off site knowing where you are and when you are due back, with constant check-ins.

Have one person always walking by themselves in front of everyone else to act as a canary so if they get fucked up by something like a collapsed floor, it is only them who get injured and the rest of the crew can call for help.

Multiple sources of light, a sold Maglite doubles up as a means of self defence without being an obvious weapon which gets around armed breaking and entering laws.

Padding like helmets, groin protectors and knee/elbow pads may be useful, as does rope and knowledge of how to use it correctly.

Water and maybe a solvent for the event a hazardous material gets on someone in the group and needs to be washed off immediately.

A med-kit.

Maps.

Back-up batteries for radios and torches.

Your brain and good situational awareness is going to be a major thing.

Good thread
Post after post, I kept thinking of Sarkovsky's Stalker.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalker_%281979_film%29
>Several people involved in the film production — including Tarkovsky — had met deaths, which some crew members attribute to the film's long, arduous shooting schedule in toxic locations. Sound designer Vladimir Sharun recalls:
>We were shooting near Tallinn in the area around the small river Jägala with a half-functioning hydroelectric station. Up the river was a chemical plant and it poured out poisonous liquids downstream. There is even this shot in Stalker: snow falling in the summer and white foam floating down the river. In fact it was some horrible poison. Many women in our crew got allergic reactions on their faces. Tarkovsky died from cancer of the right bronchial tube. And Tolya Solonitsyn too. That it was all connected to the location shooting for Stalker became clear to me when Larisa Tarkovskaya died from the same illness in Paris

http://people.ucalgary.ca/~tstronds/nostalghia.com/TheTopics/Stalker/sharun.html
>In Stalker Tarkovsky foretold Chernobyl
Bonus: this article mentions Sarvosky's firm belief in flying saucers, as he saw one himself

So,here's the first one: Carousels.

Dvach, here's a story that happened to me this weekend. Maybe you'll help me find a rational explanation and I'll stop being scared of my own shadow. Here's the thing,I have a small wooden house in a village, where I sometimes go to rest. This Saturday I went there. We got a pretty big company, went to some chick's place, watched a couple movies(well, everyone else was watching,I was particularly busy drawing triangles). And then,at about 2 a.m. I started getting this unexplained feeling of uneasiness. I recalled that I left my car at the old abandoned pioneer camp,it's real close to the village and a popular spot for teens to hang out, since it's got everything they need - quiet, nobody over 20yo,old abandoned rusty buildings, where you can sneakily smoke or get drunk. In the morning for some reason we opened the rusty gates to the camp and I parked there, looking back on it,I have no idea why I did that.
So,I took a can of beer to make the trip a bit better and went to get my car(I thought it was getting lonely there, lol) I had music playing,a great summer night, good beer... It took about 5 minutes to reach the gates. The car was parked about 300 m in. As soon as I entered,I stepped on a broken 15 year old asphalt road which had seen tons of lolis march and I started getting a bit scared. But,to be honest, that was justified - in the 90's quite a number of corpses was found there, who obvious didn't die of their own accord. Then in the summer of 2001 some satanic cult or some shit tried organizing meetings there, but they didn't stick and we saw them 7 times at most, but that still left an impression. Overall, this camp was a pretty grim, strange place, and at night, let's be honest here - scary. But I,a goddamn rationalist, told my subconcious, which was pleading for me to leave,to shut up and kept on going.

cont.
>>
In a minute I reached the car, started it up and seemingly relaxed. Did a U-turn on a narrow road and started heading for the exit. After going through the gates and technically being in the cozy village and not the icy camp,I thought that it'd be kinda dickish to leave the gates open like that. Alright. Stopped, went out and came back to the camp, getting the same uneasiness as before as soon as I enter, but to be honest,it hit me about twice as hard.I quickly closed the gates and went about 10 meters deep to take a piss. After doing that, popped a cigarette, turned towards the gates and... And almost lost my mind.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw that on the old, rusted beyong repair carousels, which were about 15 meters away from the road, was someone riding them. Very fucking quickly. It was pretty dark, but I could make out a human shaped silhouette, flapping in the air white clothes and,Dvach,he was staring right in front of himself. He wasn't looking at me,but any normal person would be interested in my manipulations with the gates. What the fuck am I even talking about,a normal, sane person wouldn't be riding the fucking carousels in an abandoned fucking camp at 2 a.m. I screamed. I screamed as hard as I could and leaving a autoban of bricks behind me sprinted towards the car, thank god it was still running. Put the pedal down, the tires screeching and burning,a quick look into the back mirror... And at that goddamn moment the front lights go out and I can't see anything. Screaming even worse than before I jerk the front lights handle. Thank G-d,it comes to life and illuminates rapidly approaching houses. I never looked back.

So,that's my story anon. What do you think it could've been,on those fucking carousels? And can I even go back to that camp?
So,here's the first one,I can probably translate more, but I'd love some source material, those saved on lurkmore.to are pretty meh, wondering if any Rusanons have something saved back from the 0chan days.

It's pretty much the same thing that creates all racist, nationalist, and other blanket anti-group movements. People's lives suck, and they need somebody to blame it on. In Europe, that's been the Jews for centuries.

If you really want to see how ridiculous Nazism and /pol/ kind of shit is, all you have to do is look at the number of neo-Nazi groups in Poland that are still screaming about the Jews despite the fact that nearly the entire Jewish population of Poland is gone. (And, by the way, a huge percentage was already gone before WWII, thanks to the pogroms.)
