Based on science and what we know your spirit or conciousness will ascend to the next dimension.

I think there are something like 11 dimensions in total.

Seeing as the 4th dimension is time itself you will probably to directly to the 5th upon death.

The joke is on you. We're trapped here on earth.
We never die.

But where do all these new consciousnesses come from?
>>
>>17576664
Of course probably nobody knows for sure.

However, I'll state my best guess.
I think the answer to the question of where your consciousness resides is it's the brain waves (It can't be your body for obvious reasons, and saying it's the brain itself creates problems by asking at what level of complexity does inanimate matter become conscious. Saying it's your brain waves that are conscious resolves these issues and gives an interesting picture of the human brain as being a sort of "generator" for consciousness).

If this idea is right then the core component of "experience" is energy taking a certain form. When we die that energy disperses, but it may be possible that this energy can be trapped by some sort of "generator" like the human brain which will warp it into a form that is conscious.

According this you'll probably live and experience again. I don't think it's possible to perceive time without a brain so even if countless universes rise and die before your energy takes a conscious form again to you it will appear to happen in an instant, and this cycle continues forever.
So we're all essentially eternal entities ever changing between bound (alive and conscious) and unbound (dead / not experiencing) states.

the car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel
and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
and a dark wind blows
the government is corrupt
and we're on so many drugs
with the radio on and the curtains drawn
we're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
and the machine is bleeding to death
the sun has fallen down
and the billboards are all leering
and the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
it went like this:
the buildings tumbled in on themselves
mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble
and pulled out their hair
the skyline was beautiful on fire
all twisted metal stretching upwards
everything washed in a thin orange haze
i said: "kiss me, you're beautiful -
these are truly the last days"
you grabbed my hand and we fell into it
like a daydream or a fever
we woke up one morning and fell a little further down -
for sure it's the valley of death
i open up my wallet
and its full of blood

I agree with this, I feel that things like Heaven, Hell, and reincarnation are approximations of things that we don't understand yet. Also it's possible that dying is just going back to your "normal" existence, and that this life is little more than a brief dream in comparison. Something that always struck me as interesting is that during many dreams you feel absolutely certain that it is completely real, even though it isn't.

>>17576664
Even though I'm Christian, I like to think there's a somewhat scientific reason for it. Two separate ways of thinking for me.

The universe had a beginning: Thus, at some possibly indeterminable point, there had to be absolutely nothing. Not time, space, matter, or dimension. Now, if this holds true, than something or someone had to create it. If there is a significance to consciousness, then whats to say it's not something other than a higher form of existence? So many people claim that nothing happens when we die, because consciousness isn't quantifiable, but I believe that if this is the case then maybe it is outside of existence. It is outside existence in the same manner as what was before the beginning of something out of nothing.

On the other hand, the universe could have always been: If this is true, I still believe something may be possible after death. Nature has many themes. Take the Golden Ratio in pic related; in different forms, this ratio is observable in nature. Hurricanes, galaxies, flowers, and others. If infinity is possible for the universe, whose to say that is the only possible case of infinity? Why can't consciousness then be recycled, stored, or channeled? That is why I choose to believe in an afterlife, regardless.

You should read the Islamic Hadiths sometime. Heaven in Islam (for good Muslim men, at least) is basically a sexual paradise where each man will get dozens or even hundreds of women for themselves, including whatever wives they had on Earth. Some Muslim writers even talked about having permanent erections on the other side, and the possibility of having young boy 'servants.'

Blackness. Just blackness. Then a bright, blinding light blurs your "vision". As your soul gradually begins to make sense of the light you notice it forming what seemd to be a recognizable pattern. Inconceivably deafening beeping follows. Panic sets in. No matter which direction you "look in" you see this pattern forming, the beeping increasing in intensity and then the light points you in the direction of the next plane of consciousness. It blows your mind.

Nobody knows the way it's gonna be. Just to think if there is reincarnation?
I prefer to say Somehow.
As I posted it here on the same thread topic, I'd search for it again in the catalog/archive and boom it's gone i think the modes delete it.
As what I'm saying, if reincarnation is true and our population are growing then we are like fractions of the whole spirit.
If you're thinking for some religious things
We will go at the purgatory where we will be judge if we will go to heaven and meet God and have some thug life or to hell and meet Satan and take the punishment.
If you're mind is being a scientist type (nerd alert!) who doesn't believe in such religious creator thing

Nothing.
You cannot comprehend it, but don't worry, you won't be bothered by that, I think it's just like passing out during something. When you pass out, you just skip to the time you wake up, and in-between you're out of consciousness, in which you have no worry or thought or pretty much anything of that sort going on.

Death for me is as pleasant as life, the way of dying is something else entirely.

Well when I was 20 I tried to kill myself with sleeping pills, as I swallowed the last of the package of twenty I fell back, and I remember it feeling as if I was falling through space, the reaction as if you are drowning where your body fights it,
anyhow, flashing lights then blackness, a brief dream of being in a post appocalyptic bombed out factory space and it being ankle deep in black water. I called out.
Then flash I am in the hospital waking up, not clearly but a awful urge of still wanting to get the fuck away from where I had been in the dream.
Was it just my brain going cold? was it the after life.
I feel stupid as fuck for trying it but that was my experience. and sometimes I still dream about the place, being around the building the area..

Or that people are just too afraid that it could all mean nothing?
That there won't be justice for a certain criminal?
That all good done will be in vain?
That all of these complex systems were just a rare chance that developed gradually over the billions of years?
Probably yes, it's an annoying thought to think that nothing matters.
But there's nothing that says it isn't true, or is really.

That's like saying darkness is a state of light, when it describes the absence of light.
0 is a number but its value is nothing.
unconsciousness with no return(death) is the state of when consciousness is absent and ceases to exist(ever come back). Though you can never be sure unless you try it yourself.

Amongst Muslims it is understood that Heaven cannot be perceived literally. Muhammad himself perceived Heaven as a place of eternal shade where people lay on pillows and cushions, everyone wore the finest green silk and silver jewellery and where everyone would be served by beautiful handmaidens and servants.

Looking back at this Muslim scholars have argued that Heaven is a place of joy and beauty. Since the human mind could not possibly fathom heaven, the closest way it could be conceived was through things that people knew and could relate to. For Muhammad it was a place where one could escape the harsh sun and where people wore green (his favourite colour) silk because this would be the closest he would come to explain it both to himself and his followers.

When you die, the construct which is "you" ceases to exist. You stop being an individual and are instead accepted into the living force. "You" cease to exist, but you experience the monistic entity wholly and come to understand that the life you knew was an illusion.

That's not a very good conception of purgatory. Purgatory is supposed to be like a prison sentence. Depending on what you did wrong, you do your time and then get out. I've never seen it described as anything like a giant room of nothingness forever, although some negative NDEs have apparently been like that.

If you believe the NDE research, it seems like the reality is some combination of >>17583855
and >>17583871. People who have had an NDE often say the place they went to felt more real than Earth, and Earth feels like a dream in comparison. The consensus also seems to be that we've all had many past lives and will have many future lives, and we keep reincarnating to have different experiences.

Basically, physical life is kind of like a simulation, with our full memories suppressed to make it work. When we die, we "wake up" from that, remember who we really are and where we really came from, and then decide the details of our next reincarnation.

Well, now that all of them have been posted, I'll have to amend this post a bit to add that >>17583910 is apparently also true. Supposedly we all have groups of people we frequently reincarnate with, and we switch the roles around to make it interesting. It does get a little uncomfortable when you hear about things like being someones spouse in one life and their sibling or parent in another.

I have to admit that I've always thought the whole idea of "living on through your children" or "living on through the memories of others" was pretty ridiculous. Of course, the version of it in that pic is a bit more literal about it.

I didn't have a NDE, but I had a very strong salvia trip that reminds me of this. I was part of some kaleidoscopic wheel spinning through space. Every moment I lived up to that point was just a dream and I was always part of this wheel spinning through space. I distinctly remember trying to break free of this wheel, but I kept being pulled back into it by what I assume were other souls. I felt like I was there for an eternity. When I returned to reality, my friends said that I became primal in my movements and was acting like a scared animal. They also said that they could see no ounce of me in my eyes. Needless to say, I haven't done salvia since.

This website might go toward answering your question. has thousands firsthand accounts of near death experiences, i.e., people who claim to have been clinically dead for a time and were brought back. http://nderf.org/
>>
>>17583748
there is not single you when you die, there are literally an infinite of you's experiencing all possible experiences at the same time, each unrelated to one and another. Or, there is a purpose behind all of this and a single you experiences what it is. Depending on whether science or religion is right, hard to tell for a single you, which is right, after death either way.

I hate this argument. Its so fucking dumb. I didnt live a life before i was born obviously, i didnt have a family, i didnt have memories, i didnt experience love. So this whole "its just blackness bro, lol im not even scared of it" is just stupid. Im not afraid of dying, im afraid of losing the ability to see the ones i love.
>>
I think this is something we just cannot understand in this state even if someone or something from the "other world" would actually try to explain it to us. Many reanimated say that after death and whilst travelling through this light tunnel they have absolute clarity on things, everything makes perfect sense to them, but the moment they are back its forgotten again. Just thinking of who created the creator and the pure insanity of just nothing being there before the big bang or whatever happened fucks my brain. I cannot handle the thought. Maybe once dead things really make sense.

This. During a trip on sass with my girlfriend, I had this exact experience. I was able to see an additional reality overlayed on this and experienced my essence and those of my closest friends and family as a constellation of stars. I never heard it put into words before, but I knew our connection to be eternal or at the very least much older than our current lives. This reality was unbounded from normal conscious life, yet intimately connected. It was more far more real than waking onsciousness and made this life appear as a projection or a shadow. Also my Jimi Hendrix Axis poster turned into the single blue face of Shiva. Honestly one of the best trips/experiences of my life.
>>
I've spent 15 minutes reading this thread and I'm having a severe panic attack for the first time in my life.
>>

Every time I smoke Dmt, I get the distinct feeling and emotions as in the pic you also linked, that everyone was in on it.

But what's more alarming is the realisation that you're them and they're you. So I will come out of a d,t trip with my wife saying to me everything is ok, but I know it's really me saying it.

It's a crazy thing, this existence
>>
>>17576664
Basically from what I have experienced from Dmt . Not only once, I'm talking years of going into this.

When you die, you remember. This is the best way I can explain it.

What you remember is impossible to explain. And I'm not trying to sound mystical, it's really bizarre.

The place where you go or are, it's an internal thing, not external.

That's the wrong question.

A better question would be: "What really happens to "me" before birth?"

But the real questions are more like this:

"Why does anything exist in the first place?"

"If I'm "aware", but everything existed before anyone was "aware", is "awareness" meaningless?"

We're only "aware" of a tiny slice of a tiny bubble of things.

Yet even if something becomes "aware" of everything, they'd only realize that "awareness" was as nothing compared to what comes next."

It's a question of being alive and not being alive.

The difference? Nothing stops existing, they just change. That's like one of the fundamental truths of the universe. I don't see why consciousness is a special snowflake.

Here's my advice.
Google "Boltzmann brain" and after you think you've got a good grasp on it, realize that it's just a thought experiment similar to Schrodinger's Cat.
Then sit back and have a long pull of whatever drug of choice is nearby and close your eyes.
While focusing on the maybe and what if scenarios of post-life, you're losing out on the here and now.
Don't live every moment like it's your last, because it's just as likely to not be.
What Happens Next is a great thought experiment, but nothing more than that until it happens.
If you're worrying about how you should live your life now because of what's going to happen after, you're doing it wrong. If you're going to be a good person, you should be good because that's who you are. If you going to be an irritating cuntbag, then be a total pile of shit because that's who you are. Quit worrying about who you're supposed to impress on the other side and just be yourself here and now. Whoever or Whatever is in charge after will respect you more for that than anything else.
Take it or leave it.

Your brain actually uses up a bunch of DMT when you you are experiencing death/close to death experience. DMT is a naturally occuring chemical in the brains of most animals, though humans seem to store much more of it then other creatures on this planet. This is incredibly interesting to me because it begs the question: Why have we evolved as a species to naturally store up DMT in our brains? DMT is also released in deep sleep, also known as REM (Rapid Eye Movement Sleep), so basically when people experience near death experiences and talk about seeing light/god or just crazy colours and sounds, its because of the DMT being released, to probably calm you down before your body shuts all youre organs down one at a time.

Stuff like this makes me want to be a brain surgeon but im too stoopid.
>>
>>17585665
I'm pretty sure the DMT theory has been debunked.
>>
>>17585677
Nope, look up dreaming/REM sleep cycles, and the releasing of chemicals in your brain. Remember dreaming feels very real until you wake up, so perhaps death is actually waking up itself, we are all just waiting for the dream to end and for reality to begin.

You were born from nothing, will die into nothing, and be born again as something else. It's not like reincarnation, or really anything that's described in religious texts. It's like changing the channel on a television. This isn't the first time you've experienced "life" as something, and until the entire universe disappears forever with everything in it (it won't) you will keep doing it.

You die and everything goes black... for a while. Then you re-emerge, but remember nothing of how things were previously.
>>
>>17582855
Exploring the Earth and exploring the galaxy are ideas which would benefit the human civilization, but not necessarily yourself as an individual. There is certainly another meaning to your life - that of self-growth and experience. Since it is a very intimate meaning, noone can restrict you from it, no matter what time you were born in or what intelligence you possess.

It is also the existence of this intimate meaning to life that makes nihilistic views of death and afterlife seem implausible. What use is self-growth, experience, knowledge, etc. if it cannot be retained? If there is truly no existence beyond this flawed life, then why go on? For the sake of future generations of mankind which will progressively get further and further lost without something to hope for? I don't think so.
>>
>>17586181
>Is it bad to want to not die, prolong consciousness , and live in harmony with those that you love?

Your physical body degrades. Your soul perishes.
You wait, similar to being in a deep, unconscious sleep, for the return of Jesus and Judgement Day. From there you are either resurrected to join the Creator in eternal glory in the Kingdom of Heaven, or you are sent to Hell (nonexistence) and are wiped out from ever existing (the ultimate punishment).

I am starting to grasp this idea. However, my main question is, what or who determines what type of life you will live next?
>>
>>17589727
Nothing. It's random, or very hard to predict rather. There's no way we could know. The most generous and kind person could get reborn as a suffering human in an African slum, or as an alien warthog thing 3 trillion lightyears away from earth a billion years later.
>>
>>17589737
Interesting. Always wondered to myself, why am I the lucky one on Earth to live in a safe country, instead of being raised in say Somalia.
>>
>>17589748
Pure chance, so honestly I wouldn't think too much about it. It'll make you insane.

There's no reason for anything in this universe, a lot of stuff just happens. There's a point where you simply should stop trying to comprehend it, because right now we're not really in a place to do so.
>>
>>17589750
One more question.

Morals.

Good and evil. I understand there has to be one for there to be there other, but according to what you are saying, doing good or bad will not determine your afterlife.

So... why? Why have this illusion of free will to do good or bad when in the end it doesn't matter?
>>
>>17589758
Doing good is more satisfying to the soul, as unless we have suffered terribly during development, we generally are good natured and like to see people happy.

It makes our time here on Earth much more pleasant. Being strict and pious is taking it too far, but being evil and murdering.torturing/raping etc is also taking it too far in the other direction.

Doing what you can to help people and make them happy makes you happy in the long run. You make the world a better place for others, and maybe others will follow your example and do the same for you in your time of need.
>>
>>17589758
Not him. But it's funny to notice that the things we naturally consider "good" are exactly those things which are necessary for a community to function. Right?

That's probably because, as beings that were always intimately involved in (and dependent upon!) social groups throughout our entire evolution it's engrained into our brains instinctually to do good by your social group. That's why we view things like murdering and stealing as "wrong".

There is no absolute universal concept of right and wrong.
>>
>>17589790
This is what I have been coming to the conclusion of.

Morals, right and wrong, are highly based on your perspective of life.

Something I do, say drink a beer, could be seen as evil in Islam.

Perspective... I suppose.

When I was in fifth grade I came to frightening conclusion that there's no evidence to suggest I wasn't in the level 1 of hell, that what made it hell was precisely the illusion that I wasn't there and that there was hope when there wasn't any.

It was already after I started thinking about suicide. I'd think, what if I kill myself and go to hell? Then I thought, what if I'm already there? It makes perfect sense. Why would I want to kill myself if I wasn't in hell?

It's over twenty years later and I've never fully recovered, Getting out of school and living independently really helped, though. Still I would rather die than ever go back. I would kill anyone who tried to take me back.

You go to heaven or hell depending on the judgment of our loving creator.

The entirety of the brain partakes in random jolts of activity during the last 30 seconds of "life" after the heart stops beating.

You go in to the "all" dimension and become karmic connection, with alignment of such based on the actions you have made in your life. Each action, no matter how small and insignificant, causes a ripple in the uni-verse(think music and frequencies - unified verses) These ripples made by your actions cause a butterfly effect with action and reaction. Energy cannot be destroyed, so these actions and reactions will simply transfer themselves from point to point and that will be your new body. You will be everywhere and anywhere, yet nowhere at the same time and will effectively become immortal because of your new form. You will meld with God, or otherwise known as "is" or "be" as the monks refer to it(even though the real God cannot be explained in any language as language has a definable form) and you will experience a certain type of heaven, hell or otherwise(whatever you are) based on the inherent energy type of your being.

After that, I don't know. But I know there is something else. There's always something else, no matter what it is. Infinity, after all...

I think the bulk of them are good people that feel a genuine sort of anguish when it comes to the moral imbalances of reality. That's always their first question to the invisible god they don't believe in "Why is there suffering if there's something other than what my eyes can see?" Any mention of it being a part of a greater scheme annoys them because they, of course can't ever hope to contemplate the reasoning of such a being so ( Which is what I find childish) they declare such possibilities illogical and silly.

It's either that or they feel fear towards the unknown and the notion that only the things we can see are real are sort of a proverbial comfort blanket.

I understand the atheist and what he is going through so I can't judge them really.

You remember that time you were born? You probably didn't, in fact no one remembers the time they were born, we just woke up one day and we were alive.

Thats what happens, you wake up in your new life.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
