S1E13 was really interesting - the serial killer who was possessed and could see the future.

Just watched S3E18, about the Chinatown underground; while not spooky I enjoyed its dark vibe and real world crime style.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musings_of_a_Cigarette_Smoking_Man

The Cigarette Smoking Man: "Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast and the taste is... fleeting. So, you end up with nothing but broken bits filled with hardened jelly and teeth-shattering nuts. And if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you got left is an empty box filled with useless brown paper wrappers."

Just hit the middle of season 2. I really loved Ice. Not sure why, but it's been my favorite episode. The Erlenmeyer Flask was great as well, but I feel like I should rewatch it soon, as my attention span wasn't great when I hit the episode.

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose definitely stuck out as a good episode. I also enjoyed that one episode, Ice, it had a bit of a "The Thing" vibe to it.

The only episode that ever legitimately scared me was the one with the satanic school teacher, I think it was called Die Hand Die Verletzt or something like that.
>>
>>17583860
"Ice" actually was an homage to "The Thing". I think "Firewalker" might be too, at least to some degree.

"Die Hand Die Verletzt" is definitely one of the most messed-up episodes, which is why it's one of my favorites in the horror category.

The sequel to the episode ruined it, but this weeeaboo was actually a super fun character in "Pusher."
>>

He was more like a traditional Japanophile. I know the two terms can be used interchangeably sometimes, but he wasn't some animu nerd like you'd find on /a/, he'd probably hang out on /jp/, the thought of which amuses me.

>The sequel to the episode ruined it

That seemed to happen a lot. I don't completely hate it, but it was pretty weak and had some dumb moments. Think about it, Pusher, Tooms, Donnie Pfaster, Max Fenig... their original episodes were damn good, but when they were brought back, those episodes didn't seem to do them justice, especially Pfaster, from what I heard. I don't even want to watch Orison because of that stupidity.

Funny, I always firmly believed that Mulder would be balls deep in 4chan if it existed in mid 90's, not to mention the lone gunmen who most definetely would be on some Tor run helhole of the web.
>>
>>17594822
I think /x/ might break Mulder's brain, but he'd still probably latch onto the most "legit" threads he could find, especially UFO related. The Lone Gunmen would handle it better, but fill /x/ and possibly /pol/ with even more tinfoil threads than ever, in between wanks to the porn boards of their choice.

I respectfully disagree. My favorite aspect of Wetwired is that it features Mr. X, Cancer Man, and The Lone Gunmen all in one standalone episode that wasn't bogged down by mythology.

Classic conspiracy (altering people's perception of reality through cable TV) and Scully's breakdown are icing on the cake.

Really gives you a good impression of the relationships between all the principle characters in the show in just one episode.
>>
>>17605168

I could rewatch it and see if I feel any different, but I tend to react that way to most mind control portrayals in shows. It usually just feels like contrived drama to turn two main characters against each other and there were other instances of Mulder and Scully doing it that worked better.

Sorry you had to find out this way, anon. It's just living proof that nearly all long-running shows will start to decay over time, no matter how good they once were. Not the best but one that has stayed in my memory as one of the funniest was Je Souhaite.

I skipped that one last time. Maybe it's worth a shot.

I can't say I had a favourite episode. I can't even recall that many storylines desu. The best ones were when little questions were answered, or new ayylmao leads paid-off.

There was always the hope that they'd one day fuck too.. which was always exciting to watch iiirc

Watching the series as a whole will give more profit than just watching the top-ten out of context.

I personally love Doggett. Reyes is total garbage though. honestly I'd suggest the total opposite and say skip the myth episodes and just go for the MOTW episodes. There's some good stuff in there. I actually really liked Improbable and Sunshine Days.
