I remember being about 5 years old when one day I stayed up to watch America's Most Wanted, or at least I think it was that. The episode started with the host detailing a story about two homeless men who stumbled upon an electronic keyboard box. They figured someone had forgotten it or it had been thrown out with the instrument or something of value still inside because they noticed the box had some weight to it. The men wanted to sell or exchange the keyboard for some mattresses for them to sleep on. To their horror, and mine, they found severed feet that turned out to be the work of some nutcase who was at large. My memory of it is fuzzy and it feels as if it were some sort of elaborate dream because any attempts that I've made to find the episode have been fruitless. I stayed away from strange boxes in odd places and the thought of finding severed limbs still frightens me.

When I was pretty young, sometime in the early 2000s, I was watching television around Halloween and saw a commercial that really disturbed me. It followed a kid who went up to a man's door to trick-or-treat and found that he was, I think, drunk, and I guess just an asshole in general. The man started giving him something bad - either rotten food or shitty candy of some sort or possibly alcohol - and, in response, the kid grabbed him and stuffed him into the bag he was trick-or-treating with, which became overly-full and covered in blood stains. The kid then smiled and walked away - in my memory he returned to a car, as if he was being driven from house to house. The implication being he was some sort of monster/demon-child who ate people, I guess.
Never been able to find it since then. At the time it really freaked me out.

Actually, there's another commercial I saw as a kid that scared me and which I can't find any trace of now. Would have aired in the same time period, early 2000s.
It showed people on a roller coaster, the camera positioned so that they were facing it, the rows of seats on the far left and right and the aisle in the middle. I'm pretty sure this was the only shot used in the entire commercial.
An employee was walking down the aisle and making sure that all of the rider's seat belts were fastened. He came to one man, who did something to convince this employee not to secure his belt. When I was a kid, I thought that he leaned over and kissed him, but now that just seems absurd - he probably actually whispered something in his ear, or passed him some cash, or something. Whatever it was, it did not involve clear speech.
The commercial then faded to black and, after a moment, back as the roller coaster returned to its starting position. Same shot and same camera angle, but the man who did not want his belt fastened's seat was empty. It lingered on this scene for another moment and then ended.
Throughout the whole thing there was not really any sound other than just ambient noise - the voices of a distant crowd, and maybe like, birds chirping or something. This made it creepier to me.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? This and the other I described have been in the back of my mind for years.

Our house ghost was never all that scary. Sometimes a bit shocking, but not scary It liked to drop things, at first we just said it was just weak hooks/screws in the wall but the screws and stuff never came out of the wall, the photo frames and mirrors and once a wizard of oz collector plate would just fall down while we were in the room with them. It also would make the phone disconnect right at 7:13 pm, not every night but often enough to be noticeable and always at the same time.
The ghost was shy, if someone yelled about the dropping stuff the room would get suddenly colder and whoever yelled would get a headache. But things would stop for several days, sometimes a week or two. Still, we all kinda felt bad about upsetting the thing so we just got plexiglass for the picture frames, that way it could drop stuff all it wanted. (My stepdad seriously replaced all our frame glass with sheets of acrylic. He says the ghost was in his house since his parents built the house and it would be cruel to drive it away after 40+ years.)
We moved and I think it came along. It dropped stuff off the walls at the new house too, and pushed cups and plates off the coffee table and desk.
It didn't follow me the next time I moved (as an adult) and I was actually a bit sad about that. It never really seemed to do anything truly bad, and I hope whoever lives in the house now treats it okay and doesn't yell at it.

when i was 14 or 15 i would always go fishing with my grandpa at these little lakes that were all really close to each other kinda in a more deserted part of the city(central Phoenix, i think)
Lakes were small enough that you could pretty much see most of it without moving, lots of palm trees and those picnic benches but it's pretty much a desert besides that.
on one fishing trip i was wandering around one of the lakes when i saw a severed goats head with horns sitting on top of a tree stump kinda by one of those benches. i freaked out, ran and told my grandpa, and i swear to god as corny as this sounds it was gone when i came back with him which was like maybe 5 minutes later.

didn't happen when i was a kid, but this last Christmas when I was driving to my parent's house to open presents and whatnot, while i was waiting at the light to turn left onto the freeway onramp i saw 3 white doves flying right in front of me super slowly, and all in a row.
nothing else in the sky in that direction, and i didn't notice them until they were directly in the center of my windshield, it freaked me out, I've seen white pigeons flying around before, but there 3 all in a row, and the positioning and day it happened on were wayyyyyy too coincidental.
opinions on these 'weird' moments? i've shared the first story before, but I'm starting to pay attention to other strange coincidences that've happened lately.

My father is a film buff, and I always complained that the horror stuff we watched (Tales from the Crypt/Darkside, Creepshow, etc) weren't that scary, and then we watched this. It was around 2001-2002, and I was only around 10 at the time, so needless to say, I got kareemed.

There's this show or movie that fucked Me hard and my memory is so skewed. It's like, there's some sort of fancy clock that when it chimes (or in general) is like a man in a suit riding possibly an old timey bike. Possibly a shopping mall, possibly actually a fountain or something. Something about crystal or glass balls.
My memory is so fucked up but I still get freaked out thinking about it.

It fucked me up even more because the first time I saw the film this scene was cut out (went from just before angel/spirit/ghost's face changes to nasty to the ark closing) due to it being shown on tv before the watershed. Next time I saw it was round a friends on VHS so when that scene happened I was absolutely mortified because I thought I knew everything about the film. (Although was caught out with a couple of things earlier, like man impaled on spikes at the beginning)

Basically, the song Cars by Gary Numan is playing, and it shows a blue Amex card, then suddenly a huge, red Amex card with spikes rushes to the front of the camera.
It fucked me up as a child and I always ran behind my father's chair, my family still laugh about it but I can't find anything about it online.

Fucking Polybius. I was really interested in the 80's as a 10 year old (2006/7) and I found out about it, I pretty much became obsessed and looked at every website about it, thinking it was real. I actually remember hoping one day I'd find a cabinet of the game.
Eventually, I stumbled across some shitty old web forum with a link, clicked it and there was a picture of the main screen with some text beside it. I had my father's Harmon Kardon system at full volume from listening to music earlier on and forgot to turn it down, when the picture changed to this fucked up screamer that I think was black and white and set in an old bedroom with wooden floors and a wardrobe and stuff, and this 'thing' screamed, I literally bolted out of my chair and screamed and I never looked at it again.
It's funny now, but back then it was awful.
